I'm baaaaack!!!! |
Hey, guys, I am finally back to the blog. This whole band and guard thing takes a lot out of a spectator like me. Could be because I get so worked up and nervous every time until our band performs. Then it's like a huge sigh of relief. Just a little bit more band talk and I'll move on to other things. First, here are a couple of clips of our band performing--here and here. They are short, but you'll get the idea of what I've been rambling on about all this time. If you watch and listen..the loudest "WOO's" that you hear will be me and my sister. We were sitting near the guy who was filming each time. Also, in the first clip, you'll see the guard running around underneath sheer fabric...things. Here is Guard Girl's description of that particular part.."We look like a bunch of retarded Casper's running around." See for yourself.
Tuesday night ended up not being all that hot. It cooled way down because storm fronts were moving in. They managed to get the whole competition done and the winner announced before all the kids took off running for the buses and the rain just let loose and POURED!! Had to drive home in a storm AGAIN for the 2nd time in a week. Anyway, our band got 1st place again. Then for last nights show, they got 2nd. Not too shabby. Now, it's hard work for the kids at their band camp this week and then State Fair will be on August 10th. So, you know what that means? I won't talk about band or guard for at least another week!! Aren't you happy??
In other news...my house is a sty and my laundry has reached mountainous proportions! Being busy is NOT conducive to good housekeeping. When I get this post done I will run to the golden arches for lunch (lunch of champions, don't ya know) and then come back and do some laundry and straighten the house up some. (KEYWORD=some) I'm just not in the mood...but then, when am I EVER in the mood? (Don't answer that, Bubba)
It is almost August and my children are snotting and hacking with colds. Did I mention it is summer? Almost AUGUST?? Summertime colds SUCK! (Yes, I am loving me some CAPS today.)
I need to be skinny.
For those 2 of you out there who are Big Brother fans...was this weeks conniving and scheming for the power of veto not BRILLIANT?? I love me some Kaysar. He played it to perfection. The look on Maggie's face when she realized she was being targeted during the veto competition was great. Neither she nor Eric saw it coming. And? I am soooo happy Eric is gone! He was bossy and full of himself and just had way too much "integrity" (read:bullsh**) to play the game right. In other words, he was really just dumb as a box of rocks. I think Kaysar and James are the smartest ones in the bunch. The disappointment this week was that Maggie won HOH so she will be ready to get revenge. I think she may put up either Kaysar and James or James and Howie. James and Howie are both still working with their once "secret" partners so she would be smart to try to break them up. Tonight will be nominations for eviction so it should be good. Wonder who will cry tonight?
For anyone who watched "Average Joe", I am glad she picked a "Joe" however, I am with guppyman when he says he thinks the show told her she had to pick a Joe. That show totally ticks me off every time I watch it, though. Not sure why I continue to torture myself by watching. I'll just say that bringing on the "good looking" guys just defeats the purpose of the show. And why does good looking have to be synonymous with COMPLETE AND TOTAL JERK??
I'm still loving "Rock Star:Inxs!" It blows American Idol away. I was sad that they got rid of Daphna this week. My favorite is still Jordis
I am almost finished getting all of the hubby's work routes mapped out. Thank goodness! I HATE Map Quest now and hope to never have to use it again. Actually, it's not so bad...I'll just be happy to be finished.
That's all for now..I'll be back a little later to post some more. That is a threat AND a promise! :) |

What is this blogging of which they speak? |
I've been tagged for a meme, I have a bunch of stuff in my head to talk about, it's Tuesday and time for the Tuesday Twosome, I have no clue what is going on in my little bloggy world with all my bloggy friends....
I'm hot (heat index over 100), tired (too many band contests, too many late nights), just got over some major PMS and now am enjoying the wonderful Aunt Flo(I HATE that name! why did I say it??) and I am in dire need of a big long NAP!!
If I never see mapquest.com again, it will be too soon!!(been mapping hubby's routes for work. He has 28 routes. I've mapped about half of them.)
Another band competition tonight. Another late night. Another sweat-fest. And? It might rain...can you say sauna?
I shall return to the happy little world of blogging as soon as I get some sleep..maybe by the weekend. |

3 for 3 |
Ok, this will be my last band and guard talk for like 2 whole days at least! ;) I just have to say that WE WON AGAIN!!! Last night and Friday night we beat the same band by just .7! Our kids have to work hard to stay ahead of them for sure. It's turning into a big rivalry. We have two contests coming up this coming week. Tuesday and Friday and then it will be preparing for the big daddy of track show band contests...the Indiana State Fair.
In other news...there is no other news except my house is a PIT and I must get off this stupid computer (the same computer I am having withdrawal from because I've been so busy) and get to cleaning.
Happy Sunday all!
PS for Tara only:Very bad week. Hopefully I sweated off a few pounds sitting out in the heat watching bands. I hope the scales are kind. Hope you are feeling better, girl!! I might get to chat a little tonight. |

Do you play with your pickle?? |
Guard Girl says thanks for the good luck wishes and the congrats. They won again last night. By just a few tenths of a point so they will have to stay on their toes to stay on top. It was slightly less hot last night, but not by much. We were all still sweaty and sticky. Ugh. Tonight is the last competition of the week. The heat index is supposed to be pretty bad today so tonight should be another miserable one for the kids and spectators.
Hey, Dawn N, I got your flickr invite, I just haven't had time to do anything about it. I will join up as soon as I get a few extra minutes.
Not much going on besides watching bands march around.
Tater called jello "lemonade pudding."
Going to the band contests again reminded me and Guard Girl of State Fair last year. After the win and after getting back to the school, we decided to go to IHOP. This was at 2 in the morning, mind you so we were all a little tired and loopy. We ate and were just sitting there talking and the waitress came up to take plates away. Bubba's plate still had a pickle on it and she started to take it away and she said, "Do you want me to take your plate or are you still playing with your pickle?" He had her take it and we all busted out laughing. It was one of those times where I laughed so hard I couldn't stop. Just when I would think I was done laughing, I would just start laughing again.
Playing with your pickle. Still an inside joke to this day.
Gotta run...laundry and stuff to do before going to the contest tonight.
You're welcome. No pictures in this post. :) |

~~HOT!!~~ |
Sweat. The Indiana heat and humidity is killer this week! Heat index hitting 100 and above. The humidity is so heavy that you can barely walk outside without your clothes sticking to you. Yuck! Yesterday at the band competition we were just miserable and sticky and just..icky. Today doesn't look any better. We have another band competition this evening, too. The stadium faces west so the sun shines directly on us all the way down. Should be fun.
So, anyway, about last night. WE WON!! I was a little surprised because there is one other band that was there who is one of our strongest rivals and I thought they would take the winning trophy. But, they got second to us. We had a lot of fun.
Earlier in the day yesterday, the weather forecast was 50% chance of thunderstorms in Martinsville where we were going to be. Last years show there got sort of rained out. The kids had to perform a "stand-still" show under a sort of cow barn thing because it was raining so hard. So, we hoped for better weather this year. Despite the heat it was a nice night weather wise. When it was all over, they made an announcement that there was a tornado warning in a neighboring county. My niece immediately became hysterical and was sure we were going to die. Once we got on the road, it was pouring rain and the wind was bowing hard and the lightening was flashing every few seconds, blinding me. I was so tense by the time we got out of the storm that all my muscles hurt! But, we made it home in one piece.
Ok, Pikkel asked for close-ups. Ok, he just wondered where the close-ups were, but you know any opportunity to post pictures I take. Oh, and Pikkel, Paris is a skank..so YES, the cow shake commercial is WAAAY better.
These pictures are from last year, of course, and about as close up as I could get sitting in the stands and not having a very powerful zoom.
Guard Girl lugging equipment to the trailer before leaving for competition. As you can see, she is a big weenie when it comes to lifting heavy things. :)
Practicing.
First performance of the season.
See the back row of flags? That's GG picking up the flag she dropped. I cried. She thinks I am crazy.
State Fair morning performance. Guard girl is the second from left in the first picture here.
The LAST one, I promise!!

It's that time of year again |
Before I talk about what I planned for this post, I just have to say, London. Again. It's sad.
Ok, on with the post. It's that time of year again. Time for marching band track show contests. Woo hoo! I love watching them and Guard Girl has fun performing. Last year her band/guard went undefeated and won the State Championship as well. This year's show doesn't seem as clean, but they still look and sound good. Tonight is the first contest. Bubba can't go so it will be me, my aunt, my two nieces and a co-worker whose daughter is also in the guard. Should be fun. There are contests coming up tommorow and Saturday, too. Two more next week as well. Late July and early August gets a little hectic leading up to the State Fair contest.
Here are a couple of pics from last year.
So that was more than a couple...sorry. :)
In other news...I love the Hardee's "Cow Shake" commercial. I know, it is sort of disturbing, but so funny! Also, it is much better than that stupid Paris Hilton car wash hambuger one. Ugh!
Gotta go..things to do and places to go. Everyone have a lovely day. I won't be home until probably midnight tonight. Smooches to all! |

twosome tuesday |
Hmmm...
1. What are your two main sources for news? (TV, cable, internet, etc.) Internet and TV~~Can't get much more reliable than that, can you? I mean, come on, everything you see on the internet is true, right? Right?!?
2. While in the car, do you prefer music or talk radio? Why? Most days in the morning, after I drop the kids off at the sitter, it's The Bob & Tom show (out of Indy). They are hilarious and it isn't that cheesy banter like some stations have. In the afternoon, when I leave work, I want MUSIC!!! So, because of that, I spend the time flipping the stations around looking for music.
3. More annoying: commercials or "witty banter" between DJs? Why? Witty banter, hands down. Can't stand it. Most of the time it is between two DJs who think they are funny when in fact, no one is laughing!!
4. More useful in the morning: Weather forecast or traffic reports? Why? The weather report is fine...just not EVERY 5 MINUTES!! Jeez. How much does it change in 5 flippin' minutes? I know this is Indiana, and anything can happen with our weather, but still. Traffic reports are ok, but my city isn't that big so there usually isn't much to report. 5. What two things cause you to get angry while driving? Explain. I don't really get very mad while driving but I would have to say something that drives me crazy is the guy who rides my butt, keeps trying to get around me changes lanes like crazy and then flies around me really fast. I love to meet that same guy at the next stop light. :) I also hate to get stuck behind someone who will NOT go the speed limit. I am not a lead foot, but please go the limit. |

Another Taterism |
Sorry to be all "isn't-that-just-the-cutest-thing" on you all, but I have just one more little story. (Does this make me a mommy blogger??)
Last night, Guard Girl was at, what else? Band/Guard practice. (The first competition is Thursday.) They got rained on so she was soaked and she called me to bring her some dry shoes and socks and a shirt. So, me and Tater and Baby J went over to the school to deliver the goods. We stayed to watch them practice a little, and we got rained on, too. So much for the dry stuff for GG. Anyway, since it was raining, I finally convinced the kids to go back to the van. On the way, we had to pass the concession stand. TT started begging for Skittles and I told her no. She kept asking and I kept saying no. The last time she asked, I told her that I didn't bring any money with me. Then Tater says, in most excellent exasperated tone, "Just forget about the money and get me some skittles!" Gotta love the logic. She didn't get skittles. She promptly crossed her arms, stamped her feet and scowled as me and Baby J went to the van. And then? Little precious took off running back to where the band was. Yeah, she got threatened with "I'm telling daddy when we get home!" She was shaking in her shoes. If you believe that, well, there's this bridge I need to sell.... |

Is there a new Harry Potter book out? |
Please don't throw things at me, but I can't get into the HP hype. Don't get me wrong, I like HP. I like the movies and what I have read of book one. Yes. That's what I said. Book one. I just haven't taken the time to read them all. One of these days I will. Whereas usually I would so be into something like HP, it just hasn't sucked me in. I must admit, though, it is a much better obsession for adults than Beanie Babies were.

Bloggin' the Bro |
I'm watching Big Brother right now.
Michael needs to keep his hands and lips off the ladies. He can't see how that could possibly bother any of them. I thought I was going to like him. Not so sure now.
Beau needs to keep his hands off Kaysar. Good lord, boy, STOP touching him all the time. Kaysar is STRAIGHT!
I can't stand Janelle even more than before. Ugh. What a snob. Ivette made them a slip 'n' slide out of trashbags and Janelle didn't want to use her "ghetto slide." Give me a break. She also is now "the smart one" because she can play chess. Yeah, we'll see.
Now Eric and James and Kaysar are arguing the war. Gettin' kind of ugly.
Imagine that..a gross food challenge. The concept is so tired. Not quite as nasty as it could have been, though.
Eric is pretty much full of it. He's going to turn them all against him if he doesn't stop bossing everyone around.
The coniving and scheming are going strong. Once again as in every other season of Survivor or Big Brother, we are already hearing about "integrity." Give me a freaking break!! You are all there to win money!! Stop with the holier than thou crap! (I love exclamation marks!!!!!!) You can NOT win a game like this and NOT ever lie or backstab. It just doesn't happen. I ask again, as I have asked in the past....Have none of these people ever watched an episode of Big Brother in the past???? The funny thing was hearing Sarah say she doesn't want to lie. She wants to keep her integrity. Hello?? You are pretending not to know your boyfriend James. Um...can you say sneaky, shady, lying??
Time for nominations. Let's see how Eric explains himself. Eric has underestimated Janelle...that's his reason. He feels like Michael is one of the strongest players in the game. Blah blah blah. If Michael stays, Eric had better watch his back.
The end. (this time) |

Baby I was born to run! |
Had to work today (suckage) and now all I will get done is running around. First, my dad had to pick me up from work because we still live in the land of Suckage McSuckeyville that is one car ownership. Then, had to go get the van from Bubba at the softball complex. Now? Back to the complex to get Guard Girl from work. Then take her to her friend's house to get her bathing suit that she left there. Then...to my nephew's pool birthday party. Then...pick up Bubba from the complex... We are FINALLY getting a second vehicle this week!! Woo hoo!

Major blast from the past!! |
So you all know I am an 80's kind of girl. But being a teen in the 80's meant that I was a child in the 70's. There are some things that were just sacred back then. Saturday morning cartoons complete with a side of Schoolhouse rock being just one. There was one thing I had forgotten about though...
TIME FOR TIMER!!
I was voting at Battle of the Blogs and I clicked on Scott-O-Rama and was reading some of his posts. And there it was..a picture of Timer and links to videos of the little short cartoon thingies he was in years ago. How cool! Click on Scott's link up there and watch the videos! It's so cool. Props to Scott for taking me down memory lane!! |

I was sitting in the recliner this morning and Tater Tot got up on my lap. I had my nightgown on. It's a long one (and oh-so-sexy in a grandma kind of way)so I had it pulled up to my knees. When Tater slid off my lap she had her hands on my knees and sort of slid them down my legs a little. Tater says, "Mommy, your legs are SPIKEY!"

A Meme Because I Don't Wanna Think Up Anything Else To Talk About |
Name
1. Two people that are important to you that have moved away/or you have moved away from: My best friend from high school, Connie. We were once inseperable and now rarely even email let alone see each other. The sad thing is, we live only about an hour from each other. My friend Monica. We've been friends since 4th grade and she moved to Nevada a few years ago. We rarely talk. I need to hunt down her phone # again and call her.
2. Two people that you wish would move away:Dare I say this out loud? Actually I can't think of anyone off the top of my head that I wish would move away. I'm just too nice.
3. Two events in your life that you deem "life-changing":Quitting college the first time I went. I often wonder what would have happened had I stayed that first year and not come home after just a very short time there. Marrying young. How could that NOT change my life?
4. Two events in your life that you wish never happened:I wish Bubba's mom hadn't gotten sick before our first child was born. She would have been a great Grandma. I wish Bubba had passed the engineers test when he worked on the railroad.
5. Two things you want to accomplish in the next two years:I want to get to a place where I am happy with my body. I want to meet Tara. (Are those really accomplishments? Well, they will be to me!) |

SOMEONEGETMESOMECHOCOLATERIGHTNOW!PEOPLEINEEDCHOCOLATE!!! |
Day one: I'm starving. Well, ok, not really starving, but..starving for my junk food!! Who wants to be skinny with a nice booty anyway?? Give me some chocolate!!
Bubba won't let me get the live feed for Big Brother. Says I will NEVER leave my computer chair. The nerve!
I had a bug in my hair today. A BUG! A little thing with legs, people!! I was driving along and for whatever reason I ran my hand over my hair and felt something. It was a beetle looking thing. In. My. Hair. I practically ran off the road trying to get it out. ewww...just...ewww...
Did anyone watch Rock Star INXS or whatever the heck it is called?? I went into it thinking it was going to be cheesy. There is definite cheese. But a pretty good show. I need to watch it again to learn the names and pick exactly who my favorites are.
I did well today...resisted temptations of all kinds. Now, poor Tara, she was met on day one with major stress. Tara, don't let 'em get you down!! :)
Enough for tonight, I am soo sleepy! |

The Shrinking of the Ass (or how Rob Thomas Inspires) |
So me and Tara were talking last night and doing dual drool duty (say THAT 5 times real fast!) over one Mr. Rob Thomas. As we examined his Live 8 performance and observed him in t-shirt and tight jeans..we came to a realization that his ass is smaller than each of ours. (only after getting out our tape measures and using our vast knowledge of algebra and geometry and marking off the size of his booty on screen and then transferring the data to...well, anyway) Trust me on this, his ass is smaller than mine, and Tara says smaller than hers, though I haven't seen proof.
So, anyway, we decided, by way of Rt's behind, that we need to help each other out a little. We need to help keep each other on track so we can try to lose some weight. Which means...lose the ass. From day to day we will encourage and bitch and whine and moan..but mostly encourage the other. We're both gonna count the Weight Watchers points, 'cause that is what works best for us. We'll see how it goes. Feel free to leave encouraging words of wisdom for us both. :) (Pikkel, shut it!) Oh, and we start tomorrow and the magic number is 35 pounds.
See?? Even that guy notices rob's ass!!(click it to make it bigger)
One more, Tara. That's what I was talking about last night, with the hand...and the shakey thing...

Did I Forget to talk about Big Brother?? |
I did! I must let you in on my thoughts because, well, I know you all are dying to know. Ok, who watched? Show of hands. I've been avoiding other bloggers opinions until I had a chance to voice mine
First, I don't know if I like the 2 story house this time. Not sure if it will really make a difference in the long run. I am happy they got a real sized pool this time. What was up, in years past, with those little bitty pools?
Not enough beds for everyone. Sleeping bags only for some. All in one room. That should be fun.
The cast. April -- I like her ok, so far. She's 30 so I am all for the "older" ones making it. She likes Dave Matthews Band, too. :) She's a newlywed so that will come into play...will add the tears factor at some point because she will be missing her new hubby.
Ashlea -- No, that is not pronounced like Ashley. It's Ash-leah. Le-uh. Get it? K. I don't like her much. Know why? She cried already. She got nominated for eviction and she cried already. Come on, chick! Have you never watched an episode of Big Brother before?? She's only 22, granted, but still.
Beau -- He hasn't rubbed me the wrong way, yet. He is quite flamboyant, though I don't think he has come out and said he is gay. Or did he? I need to watch it again..I dvr'd it. He's a personal shopper and wears his collars up. Oh wait, he took a boa with him. Yeah...
Eric -- He's another of the "old" ones. I'm afraid his attitude will get him booted eventually. Seems like he can probably be a little brash or overbearing, but we'll see. He also seems like he is desperate already to save all the guys. He just knows the old guys usually go quickly.
Howie -- He's a 34 year old meteorology student. He acts 20. And? The boy does not shut up!! His mouth is going all the time. I think the other house guests will either love him or hate him. Probably not much in between. He's the one, though, that will probably stay in the house for a long time because there will always be someone else making the other just that much more mad.
Ivette -- She is a lesbian but no one knows yet, so you know that will come into play eventually. I haven't gotten much of a vibe from her yet.
James -- This guy started lying from the beginning. I will bet he plays the game well. Problem is, his big lie, about what he does for a living kind of sucked. A 9th grade philosophy teacher? I like him, though, so far.
Janelle -- Nope. Don't like her.
Jennifer -- She's trying to hook up with someone already. Don't like her much.
Kaysar -- He's smart and could go far if he plays it right. (but, he was nominated this week.) As long as he doesn't keep pointing out his "differences" he should be fine.
Maggie -- I like her. She is picking up on things. She seems smart and could move in under the radar as long as she doesn't make anyone mad. From the looks of the previews, it looks like she may make friends with Eric the married firefighter.
Michael -- He's not on my nerves yet. I can't decide about him. He didn't really say or do much but look cute.
Rachel -- I like her now, but I see that she is playing the game and may get...annoying. She's head of household this week.
And finally, Sarah -- Who? I don't even remember her. Hmm..
I do hate the nomination ceremony. Just give the names and move on. We don't need a lame explanation as to why you did it. Just pass out the keys and commence with the sucking up.
One last thing. Why were they all jealous of the HOH room already? They'd been there for like..a day!
Oh, and I could totally eat PB&J for a week. No problem.

Part two..
Mr. Fugetaboutit, ShrinkingWop, called me out on my voting over at the Battle of the Blogs on Blog Explosion. He noticed that I voted against him all the time in the battles and he asked.. Have you ever read my blog or just don't like the look? I will admit that I tend to vote against his blog in the battles. There are a couple reasons. Maybe three. First, I think his title/header thingie is too big and that bugs me. I can't ever see his latest post at first glance without scrolling down. Blog reader laziness on my part, sorry. Second, I can't stand the phrase/word, Fugetaboutit. Reminds me of the Sopranos. It bugs me. Third, often times he goes up against someone whose blog I like to read outside of BE. So, yes, I favor my "friends." I know,I know, the battles are supposed to be about the "best" blog of the two. Best is relative. Some blogs that appeal to me don't appeal to you. I have read some of his posts lately and he is a funny guy. So, Mr. F, from now on I will give you a chance..even if it means I cramp my finger using my scroll wheel on my mouse.
Next question was from Ivy. She asked.. What do you think is your greatest accomplishment other than your family? I don't think I would have said my family first. They are still a work in progress! :) Graduating college was an accomplishment definitely. Is that too cliche? Really, I think my greatest accomplishment is yet to be seen. I hope so anyway.
One of my favorite sweethearts, Present Storms just complimented me all over the place and made me blush! Thank you sweetie. And I didn't design my new template. It was the wonderful and talented Cherry from Web Divas. Truth is, I am totally ignorant when it comes to these things so I have to hire someone to do it for me. :)
Present Storms came back later and asked me to tell one really quirky thing about myself. I can't drink water through a straw.(except for the cup I have at work, which has a straw.) I hate it. Ew. Also, I only drink milk from plastic cups and it has to be really cold, but NO ice. Are those things quirky? Or just weird?
Scully and Kelly both asked for more pictures of me. Watch this space in the future. I'll be posting some. When I get some that I like. Until then, I will probably post more from the past.
So lost asked me.. Why for because don't you think you are cool? Umm..not exactly sure what the question is here. But, I guess I am as "cool" as I feel at any given moment. Get me around my friends at work, my cool factor is not bad. My cool factor in the blog world is a little better. Am I REALLY striving to be cool? Nah. I just want people to like me. Is that so wrong?? ;)
Good old MommaK asked me to Post about the last time I was really drunk. Would you believe, never? No, seriously. I have never been drunk. Once when we went out with another couple, the other guy kept ordering me girly drinks (alabama slammers, if that can be considered girly. Tasted a little like medicine to me.) to see if I would get drunk. Apparently he thought I was too much of a goody goody. I didn't drink enough to get drunk, but I certainly was feeling it. I didn't even do anything stupid. I did wonder if I would make it to the bathroom in a straight line, though. Wow, I am boring.
Yes, xtessa, we DO still call them ficken chingers. :)
I am choosing to ignore Bob the chicken man's question. My child reads this!
Erin asked... What is your least favorite chore around the house and how do you make it fun? (can fun and chore be used in the same sentence??) Definitely cleaning the bathroom! Especially the toilet. How do I make it fun?? I watch my husband do it!!
I think that is it for now. Thanks to everyone for the compliments on my blog and my picture! You guys are the greatest! Watch for my really cool banner over at blog explosion! Smooches and hugs! |

The Answers You've All Been Avoiding Waiting For |
I thought I had better get to answering since I begged for help a couple of days ago.
But First...A HUGE pet peeve of mine (and I do have many). The whole fam damily went to Applebee's today for a late lunch. Everything was ok, except for the waiter. He gave us good service and all, however, everytime we asked for something he said, "No problem." GRRRR....that is like nails on a chalkboard for me! I KNOW it is no problem because THAT IS YOUR JOB! So say, "Sure." or "Ok." or "I'd be happy to." But please, do NOT say, "No problem!"
Hey Pikkel, I saw another vanity plate the other day. 2UTHDR Bet you can't guess who was driving that little convertible sports car.
Is it a bad thing that our almost 4-year-old daughter, one miss Tater Tot, used the word "LOSER" in it's correct context today? Was one of those can't help but laugh moments, but you still have to tell them not to call someone a loser. What made it so funny? She was talking to her daddy. You had to be there, but trust me, it was funny.
So, did y'all see? They replayed Live 8 with no commercials today because of all the complaints they got. Pretty funny. Some great performances, though I only managed to catch a little Maroon 5 and also Rob "get your paws off,Tara!" Thomas. He was looking mighty scrumpdillyumptious if I do say so myself.
Should I answer some of the questions posed to me from my post on Wednesday? Not sure I will get to them all at the moment, but I will try.
From Vern Why Indiana? Why not? I was born here, raised here. My family is here. It's my comfort zone. I've never had a desire to pick up and move somewhere else. I like the 4 seasons that Indiana offers. Even though the summer humidity bites the big one! I'm happy here and here is probably where I will stay.
Oh, a hard one from eric... (who, by the way has my favorite blog post title that I have seen lately, "Idiosyncratic Dishwashery." How cool is that?) Anyway, his question/subject was True story entitled:It seemed like a good idea at the time. Having sex. Just kidding!
I will say that I was such a straight-laced kid/teen, that I rarely did anything to cause trouble or to get myself into trouble. This is taking quite a deal of thinking on my part. Hurts my brain. Hmm..ok, well, this is a little lame, but the best I can do on such short (3 days is short!) notice. I had this boyfriend in high school that I just couldn't stay away from. Even if we broke up and I was going with someone else, he just had some sort of appeal for me and I would always go back with him. The problem was, he was a ladies man..or thought he was anyway. Basically, he only went out with me to try to get in my pants. So, one night, I was at the basketball game and he was supposed to be there and was supposed to sit with me..etc..well, he shows up with another girl! I was so ticked off I couldn't see straight. So, after the game, we drive around to the school for the dance. I get out of my car and see his car parked a few spaces over. I am just ranting and raving to my best friend. As I am walking by his car, I take a flying leap and just karate kick at his bumper. (I was mad, people. And 17.) Hmm, yeah, well, I missed his bumper and kicked out his tail light! I threatened all witnesses. He never knew it was me. I needed to get my frustrations out. It seemed like a good idea at the time.
More later. I was IM-ing with Tara and time got away from me. I have to pick up Guard Girl from Drummer Boy's place. |

Answers coming soon to a blog near you |
Ok, I will be answering your questions soon. I just had to say TGIF! I'm going scrapping tonight at a friends house. London made me sad. I am addicted to the battle of the blogs on Blog Explosion. Tara needs to update with a big old long juicy post soon! It's beautiful outside and I am stuck inside. Being poor sucks. Being F-A-T is way suckier. Being almost 35, too? The all time suckiest! Eh, not so bad. :)
Enough randomness. Smooches to my bloggy friends! |

Just call me Popeye |
So, I noticed today that when I comment and my picture shows up (the one from my profile) it looks like one of my eyes is...well..odd. Sort of looks like my eye is popping out. Must change that photo soon.

Look, I got a picture of the sign! |
Ok, so it's slightly askew, but I had to snap this picture as I drove by. You can actually see two signs in this shot. I'm sure "Doc" does a reasonably right job of mowing lawns. Perhaps we should hire him.
Baby J woke up earlier whining and crying. He was hot, so I asked him if he wanted a drink of water. I got him some water and handed it to him and he looked in the cup and handed it back and said, "No. Apple." Yeah, now he's putting in nighttime drink orders. Little bugger.
About that time (around 11pm) someone knocks on the front door so I flip on the porch light and look out the blinds and it's one of Guard Girls friends standing there with a roll of toilet paper in her hand. GG goes out on the porch with her for a minute then comes back in. Seems another girl's mother was driving them around to TP houses! Mother of the year material right there.
Oh jeez...I just read the comment xtessa left for me on my last post. Seems True Jersey Girl has a link to an interesting rumor concerning that freak boy who acted like a complete fool on Oprah and a certain sexy singer who is the object of my (and Tara's) affection. Follow the links while I fire off an email to Miss Pineapple. |
