Is there a new Harry Potter book out? |
Please don't throw things at me, but I can't get into the HP hype. Don't get me wrong, I like HP. I like the movies and what I have read of book one. Yes. That's what I said. Book one. I just haven't taken the time to read them all. One of these days I will. Whereas usually I would so be into something like HP, it just hasn't sucked me in. I must admit, though, it is a much better obsession for adults than Beanie Babies were.

As a teacher, I can respect how well written the books are, but they totally aren't my type of genre. Like you, I didn't get all the way through the first one. I do appreciate the fact that JK Rowlings has made readers out of so many children, though! (I did see the first movie and hated it. Of course the movies are never as good as the books in any instance.) By the way, I really enjoy reading your very ecclectic blog...it's enjoyable!

Just so you know, that new wizard guy kills the old professor wizard guy in front of Harry.

Pikkel, don't be a jerk. I might just have to erase your comments! :)

I'm with you - the hype escapes me. The books are great - they have got a lot of kids reading again - which is great. However, as great as they are? I am NOT gonna be outside at 12pm in the middle of winter queuing for a copy. No way!

Okay, Ang,, yet another thing we both agree on. Harry Potter is okay, but I don't get the hype either.

I haven't read any of the books and don't think I plan to. I try to skip overly hyped things ever since I made my parents buy me 4 Cabbage Patch kids in '82.

Love your Blog! Yeah, my middle teen was into the HP thing real bad when the 5th book came out...she's since found "boys" are better subjects. I was glad cause she didn't want the new HP, thought I didn't have to deal with the "wizard" anymore...but, nope, my 6 yr daughter is in love with him now.....jeez!

I had to read it twice before I GOT it.
And now I will never forget it. I have to have one.
