A first
Let's play truth or dare truth...

I'll go first. I pick TRUTH.

I have never cried in a fitting room before.

Until today.

I am taking it all back because it looks like crap.

THAT is why I do not shop.

PS the big mac, though not on my "diet", was tasty as emotional eatings go.

The Father's Day Post--better late than never
I couldn't let today end without the obligatory Father's Day post.

I don't talk about my dad a whole lot here on the blog, but I thought I would show you guys a couple of my favorite photos of me with my dad when I was little. I had a great childhood and I just remember that my dad could do anything. At least I thought he could. He worked hard to take care of us and when we ever had any kind of financial problem, I never knew it. Life was good and I had a daddy who took care of me and protected me always. He's changed a lot over the years, but one thing remains the same, he would do anything in the world for me or one of my sisters.

How cute are we? This is in Tennessee at my grandparents' house.

I love this one. We were at King's Island and Dad is wearing the KI hat that I had to have but then didn't want to wear. Awesome.

Daddy holding me up so I could 'swim.'

The other dad in my life, my husband, of course deserves mention. We became parents young and even though it took him a while to fully grow up (and probably me, too), he has always taken being a father seriously. He is proud of his kids and loves them more than anything else. Plus, he's now been a stay-at-home dad for almost a year and a half and because of this, I can go to work every day and not worry for one minute that my kids are being taken care of. He's a great father and I couldn't have asked for more.

That price is WRONG!
Nooooooooooooooooooooooooo! Not Rosie freakin O'Donnell!!

Look, I haven't watched the Price Is Right in years. However, the show is etched into my childhood memories. Bob Barker IS TPIR. TPIR IS Bob Barker. To add Rosie as the new host would be...would be..oh..perish the thought.

YUCK!

Night of the Living Ken
The other day, the kids had been playing with Barbies and one of the Kens had been...um..decapitated. Decapitated to the point of being unfixable. (is that a word?)

Jameson found the Ken and took it to show to Bubba and he said to ask Braelyn if she still wanted it.

Jameson: "Bay-winn, do you want to keep this?" holds up Ken and head in separate hands.

Braelyn: with barely a glance and with a nonchalant delivery "Yeah. He can be the zombie."

Edited to add, just for Tara, photographic evidence.

Braelyn wasn't happy that I was taking photos of Zombie Ken.

Antlers or Bear?
Sometimes, I wonder about myself and my mental status. Seriously.

I was sitting here at work and realized I had not changed one of my calendars over from May to June. Now, this particular calendar is of the deskpad type that lays flat on the desk and has great big squares with tons of room to write info in. I keep many little notes from month to month on this calendar. Things I need to know at a quick glance.

Sometimes, this particular calendar is the only place I have to write a quick note of a phone number or fax number or something like that when I am on the phone with a client. It's funny to see the scribbles that I leave there.

Today as I was getting ready to yank the May page and toss it, my eyes fell on a note I had written for who knows what reason. It said, "Antlers or Bear." The heck?

I have absolutely NO idea why I wrote that. None. It doesn't ring any kind of bell for me. I hope it wasn't important because I threw it away.

8 pounds, bitches!
Ok, I really don't talk like that, but I just wanted to convey the fact that I have lost 8 pounds!!! (in almost 2 weeks) It has taken exercising every single day and of course eating right. I guess I DO have a metabolism. I just had to jump start it.

The good thing is, I haven't really been craving sweets. That is HUGE for me! A girl at work brought me a teeny piece of cake today. I had two bites and threw the last bite and all the icing away. Any other time I would have gone looking for more.

Baby steps.

Ok, I'm off to exercise.

New kicks, rain, and the last day of school
Just have to show you guys Tara my new walking kicks that I got today.

Tried the shoes out today and apparently they don't make me go much faster since Bubba was kind of blowing me away. :)

Then, we got rained on.

But, before all that, it was the last day of school for Braelyn and Brianna. Brianna's photo is on her camera and hasn't been downloaded yet. But, here is Braelyn. The photo on the left is today. The photo on the right is the FIRST day of school. She's gotten taller for sure.

That's all I've got for today.

My body is protesting every step of the way
28 days to the BEGINNINGS of a new me. That's what I should have titled this post. I have a LONG way to go to be a completely new person, but I can start down the road.

If I haven't mentioned in the past, I'm a fattie. Yep. I admit it. I admit it AND I hate it. So, I've been trying to do something about it. (nevermind that this will be approximately the 500th time since I was about 12, that I am trying to lose weight.)

For whatever reason, I have been pretty committed for like, a WHOLE WEEK! But, that is really good for me. I've been exercising, even. And by exercising, I mean, actually exercising and sweating! Not just walking from my computer chair to the kitchen and back, either. I've been walking. Outside! I've been doing the Biggest Loser DVD. I've been sweating! And hurting! And breathing heavily! And begging God to make it end! But, I've stuck to it. From Tuesday to Friday, I lost nearly 4 pounds! GO ME!

I joined The Biggest Loser Club online and I've been talking with some people there. However, one of my biggest motivators (besides Bubba losing weight faster than me) is my friend, Tara. Recently, she asked me to join her in a walking challenge and I temporarily lost my mind and said yes. (just kidding, Tara!) It's a 28 day walking plan that she found on Prevention's website. Click there and it will take you to the starting point.

Here's what it looks like.

Tara even made us a playlist to listen to while walking. She rocks! I'm hoping by the end of the month I will have some more weight loss. I'll keep you posted.

In the mean time, you guys (who want to get fit or lose weight) should join us in this walking challenge! Let me know if you do..so I can totally kick your butt!

Video killed the radio star.
I know everybody hates video posts, but this one is pretty funny. It's my daughter, Brianna, practicing for her guard final. They had to write an entire show, from tarp to outfits, to music to flag work. She was outside practicing one day so I taped her. Brianna really isn't the funny part. Watch the background. Jameson kind of steals the show.

It's only 18 seconds long. Humor me.

Click HERE if it doesn't work.
