Remember how I said I had a HOT date? 'Member that? Well, read the title of this post. Yeah. Not so hot. Fun? Yes. As only an old married couple can have fun. HOT? Not so much. I KNOW how you all have been waiting for the details. By all I mean none. Anyway, giddy with excitement, I got ready to go out, even almost avoiding all thoughts of "I hate every piece of clothing in my wardrobe." I even put on make-up.
So, guess what we did first? No...GUESS! We went to WAL-MART! How's that for a HOT date? We stopped over at the Wal-mart across town to get a layaway out. Then we were off to Carlos O'Kelly's. I really like their food, but the deciding factor for why we chose there to eat was it was NOT busy. I HATE waiting 45 minutes to an hour to get in somewhere to eat. We walked right in and got a table in the bar. They didn't even card us! Can you IMAGINE them thinking I look a day over 21?? I proceeded to eat my weight in chips and salsa. Their chips are the best around and I had myself one of those frozen alkeehol drinks. Raspberry margarita...mmmm.. I had one of those sampler platter things for dinner. You know the kind with a few things ending in -ito and -ada and -eans and -ice.
From dinner, we drove by the movie theater. What? You expected us to go IN and actually watch a movie? No, really, we drove by to see what was playing. Nothing worth paying full price for so on we went to our next date destination. As we headed that way, I was TOTALLY feeling the alcohol from that ONE margarita and Bubba contemplated going home right then for the sex-shul relashuns. I said contemplated.
Who wants to guess where we went next? You, in the front, with your hand up. What's your guess? That's right...WAL-MART!! Seriously, two visits to two different wal-marts in the course of one "date." Only in Indiana, people. Only in Indiana.
This time it was a visit to the wal-mart on our side of town to put ANOTHER layaway in. The chil'ren need some church clothes don't ya know. Mama got herself a couple of new things as well. Much to Bubba's happiness, a couple of things might just show a little cleavage. Might, I said. Might. After wandering around there for a while and purchasing two pieces of cheesecake, (all mine!), we headed home in the rain.
Once home, we watched "Hitch" which I hadn't seen yet (Kevin James and Will Smith, gotta love that!) and decided who was more tired and Bubba went to bed as I tried to fight sleep a little while longer.
Because I don't really want to think tonight For lack of anything better to post, I thought I would share a couple of photos from my junior year. These pictures were in the yearbook. (Pardon the crookedness of the photos. It's hard to scan a big heavy yearbook.) Click 'em to Big 'em.
Guess who the doofus is in this shot of the yearbook staff? The one in the LONG jean jacket, wings in her hair and brown leather Bass shoes? The ONLY one looking AWAY from the camera? Yeah, that's me.
Here's a photo of my typical Friday and/or Saturday night during basketball season. See the three arrows? (My best friend did that.) That's me on the right. The 3rd arrow. Even though my face wasn't painted (this time) I was SUPER FAN!
In a touch of...irony...this is a page from the yearbook. The bottom photo is me sitting with my friends during the Sadie Hawkins dance. But wait? Where's my date? Top photo...Oh, there's Bubba! Hang on..he was not my date. Look! There! In the shadows. Dancing with other people! MY DATE.
Blane?! His name is BLANE?! That's a major appliance, not a name!
TGIF!! I really am glad it is Friday. I have a ton of stuff to blog about, but no time right now. Maybe later.
I will say, Shane on Survivor...PSYCHO! Go Cirie!!
On Amazing Race...Go Hippies! Boo Frat Boys!
Gonna try to catch up with some posting tonight and tomorrow so you guys have something to read other than American Idol stuff. Though, I will say that my archives from last year's AI are pretty funny if I do say so myself.
Thirteen Things that ANGIEneeds to/wants to /should blog about
Just thirteen things I have been thinking about blogging. Not very exciting, I know.
1. What it's like to marry young. 2. How Bubba proposed to me. 3. How I can POSSIBLY let my 15 year old have a steady boyfriend for a long period of time. 4. Memes I've been tagged for. 5. Memes I've stolen from someone but NOT been tagged for. 6. Various "deep" thoughts I've had. 7. A couple of good Ten on Tuesday's that I've missed. 8. A post answering a bunch of comments I've gotten recently. 9. Blog snobs. 10.My thoughts on possibly having weight loss surgery someday. 11.Thoughts on my parents aging--and/or general family posts 12.All my favorite tv shows, not just American Idol. 13.EYE CANDY!
The purpose of the meme is to get to know everyone who participates a little bit better every Thursday. Visiting fellow Thirteeners is encouraged! If you participate, leave the link to your Thirteen in others comments. It’s easy, and fun! Be sure to update your Thirteen with links that are left for you, as well! I will link to everyone who participates and leaves a link to their 13 things. Trackbacks, pings, comment links accepted!
Whew...I barely made it! It's time once again for GTHOTS(*get the heck off the show!) night on American Idol.
Let's see who goes this week. Will it be Kellie or Paris?? In my dreams, it would be Kellie but I am afraid it will be Paris this time.
3 groups of 2...
Katharine and Chris got the highest number of votes! SAFE!
Elliott and Taylor are SAFE!!!
Kellie and Paris bottom 2!!
GTHOTS KELLIE!!!!
I am a little surprised. I thought Kellie would last one more week. Well YEE HAAAAAA! She just wasn't good enough to be in the top 5 or 4 or 3 or 2 or win! Ya know, 'cause I know so much about music. ;)
Live bloggin' the Idol again. Come on in and stay a while.
I love David Foster. They need him there every week to critique the singers.
First up is Katharine. First is usually the death spot.
Katharine sings "I Have Nothing". As usual, she looks GORGEOUS. Did you SEE that cleavage? She sounds amazing! A great song choice. I thought it was big and powerful and I didn't think she oversang it at all as the judges are saying. She kicked butt in my opinion. I give her 21/25.
Elliott sings "A Song For You". I really like this performance by Elliott. I see Elliott as rounding out the Top 4 and being the underdog. I don't think he will win, but he's good! Elliott did a great job tonight! And Paula cries. Gag me. Sorry, I just don't buy her being so touched. I am so mean, huh? Anyway, I give Elliott 22/25.
Oh great..Kellie speaks. "I don't have anybody to play pottery with." PLAY pottery. Ugh. Make her stop.
Kellie sings "Unchained Melody". Oh come on! How did she make it this far? The beginning is less than stellar to put it nicely. This is NOT a good song choice for Miss Pickler. Terrible. It reminds me of a little girl in a beauty pageant. Hard to explain. I give her 15/25. Simon said it was like a song that would never end (or something like that). That is exactly how it was.
By the way, I am loving Andrea Bocelli's take on things, as well as David Foster's.
Paris sings "The Way We Were". I do like Paris' hair more natural. I don't like her low notes, but she is doing a pretty good job tonight. Paris can hit those big notes well. She seems to be really pushing her voice out, though. I give her 20/25.
Taylor sings "Just Once". Oh, I so hope he does well with this song! Come on, Taylor! He seems a little nervous. But, he's my Taylor!! I love him. He could sing to me anytime, any place. (sorry, honey.) I really loved it. He could sing my grocery list, though. It was a little stiff but he brought it at the end. I give him 21/25.
I am so nervous for Chris!!!
Chris sings "Have You Ever Really Loved A Woman". How funny! They had him sing while lying on the floor during practice. GREAT song choice! Be still my heart. I love this song. He is kicking major American Idol ASS! He looks really hot, too, in that long jacket! Oh, he hit an off note, but that's ok. Ahhhh...I LOVE me some CHRIS!!! I give him 23/25.
Overall, I think it was a very good night. The judges were rushed because they insist on letting Ryan chit-chat too much. Paula was on something.
My Top 3 for the night:Chris, Katharine and Elliott My bottom 2 for the night:Kellie and Paris, even though Paris is so much better than Kellie.
I WANT Kellie to go home, but I am afraid it will be Paris first and we will be frickin' stuck with PICKLER in the top 5!!
Number 1? Remind me to just NOT ever go on Ball State's campus. Ever. Why? It reminds me of just how FAT I am and how OLD I am.
Number 2? Remind me not to go to a show, free or not, that is going to be an auditorium full of gay men and lesbians. Homophobe? Me? Nope. I just don't relate. Especially when almost the entire act, this is 2 opening acts and main act (Margaret Cho), is about gay/lasbian topics. (read:sex) Seriously, it was a funny show. It got tad raunchy at times, though. (yes, I am OLD AND a bad mother)
Number 3? Remind me that Ms Cho's show is political at times and the Bush bashing. OH the Bush bashing! Look, y'all know I like the Prez. Do I agree with everything he has ever said and done? No. But, really, the constant bashing is getting on my last nerve. It's on blogs, in the paper, on Letterman and....in Margaret Cho's show. Ugh. Does she have every right to say what she wants? Yes. More power to ya, Marg. But? Ya on mah nerves!
Number 4? Remind me to take a heavy object, such as a big red swingline stapler or some such thing, so I can hit the guy in front of me in the back of the head for laughing like a doofus CONSTANTLY and clapping his hands at the same time at EVERY. FRICKIN'. WORD. SHE. SAID. Dude? She wasn't THAT funny! (oh, but, the last story she told had us laughing so hard my chest hurt and I had to pee. So, yeah, it was worth the money. Oh wait, it was free.)
(the title is a line from an old tv show...anyone know what it is?)
Anyway....I'm taking Guard Girl and her friend Goth Girl to see Margaret Cho tonight at Ball State. It's free and Guard Girl thinks she is hilarious (Margaret, not herself). I was going to just drop them off and come back later to pick them up...but they have twisted my arm into staying. It's not that I don't like stand-up, it's just that there are blogs to be surfed...credits to be earned at Blogmad. You know, PRIORITIES!
I was completely uninspired to blog this weekend, as you all could tell from my one post of flower photos. I kept signing on to my dashboard and staring at a blank screen. Inspiration nada. I have some stuff in my drafts that I could have worked on, however, I wasn't even inspired to be that lazy.
Friday night, I finally got to go over yonder to the new Wal-marts in town. Seriously, it is so nice I want to buy one of everything in the store even if it IS the same stuff at the other wal-mart in town. But, this stuff is a mere 3 minutes from my house!! THAT? Makes it wondrous and new and unique..even if it isn't.
We DID manage to clean out the shoe department buy shoes for Baby J and the Tot. They each got tennis shoes (does anyone else still call them tennis shoes?) for the summer, plus a pair of decent sandals for casual we-are-bathed-and-ready-to-go-someplace attire. Tot actually got 2 pair of those and then they each got a cheapo pair of flip-flops/sandals for the throw-your-shoes-on-kids-we-gotta-run-to-the-walmart times. My children's feet are now well covered. On top of that? They each got a new outfit. Spoiled brats. ;)
I managed to NOT buy myself one ding dang thing. Maybe next time.
Saturday, I actually spent the day outside watching the kids play with the neighbor kids. I've come to the conclusion that when my children's knees are actually hitting their chests as they ride their bikes...it's time for new bikes. Anyone want to send cash? Oh, wait, I COULD return some of their footwear for cash to get them bikes.
Anyway, it was super nice out Saturday and the kids were pooped out by evening. Guard Girl worked two different shifts at her job on Saturday and then volunteered for a shift on Sunday. The thought of a bigger check appealed to her greatly. By the way, she has the same job this year that she did last year. She works in the concession stand at the softball complex where her daddy umpires. It is run by Dairy Queen so she actually works for them.
Sunday was a boring day spent messing around on the computer and watching nothing all day.
See why I was uninspired?? Of course for no inspiration, I managed to say plenty today, huh?
PS I am fat and I hate the clothes I have on today AND my hair is a frizzy yucky mess. HAPPY MONDAY!
Know what I hate? That little clump of lotion that sort of dries right inside the lotion pump/lid and then when you go to squeeze some out, it either makes the lotion squirt out in a weird direction or you start rubbing the lotion over your hands you are met with that glop o' congealed stuff. Ew.
I'm pretty sure that was the longest run-on sentence ever.
In no particular order...except for Tara 'cause she really is #1 on the list..and then EVERYONE else is #2. Really. :)
1. TARA I'm PRETTY sure we are related somehow...if not, we SHOULD be! LOVE her! 2. CRISTIE She understands my fight with the FAT! Totally cute. AND funny. I love this girl! 3. SEA Sweetest, most sincere person I have EVER 'met.' Prettiest curly hair EVAH! Lovety Love! 4. MELISSA Wild and kuh-razee! We totally have to go out! LOVE her..and she always knows some good blog gossip! 5. BOB Because, um, HELLO? Hot/sings/plays piano. Be still my heart! 6. E A fellow Hoosier and probably the only person I wouldn't feel self-conscious around because of the FAT! (I have issues, can you tell??) 7. GUPPY and STORMII They count as one on my list because they are married and live together so if I went to meet one of 'em, the other would be there. Guppy=dry wit. Stormii=sweet as pie. But their lovey dovey would make me GAG! ;) GET A ROOM! 8. PIKKEL Don't ask. Even I can't explain it. May be the Patrone. If you easily offend, don't go there. He's a tad...harsh at times. Ya just gotta know him. 9. ENDER Two words...COOL TOYS! 10.OTI Because I want to walk around the city with him as he takes all those cool photographs! 11.WENDY She's my ticket to meeting the COOL people...like Jonny Fairplay. hee hee 12.MONTY Because I have to suck up to her for stealing her pretend boyfriend. This girl RAWKS! 13.Y and ZOOT I listed these two together because I kind of stalk them both every day. They make me pee myself from laughing laugh and the pictures of their kids...ooze with so much cuteness it makes you OD with the sweet!
A few more because I only had 13 spots... BRIAN, LC (I swear I did NOT read her blog today before I did this!), SHANE, DENISE, Shelly and really there are so many more...I contemplated doing a list of bloggers that I wouldn't want to meet if I were near death and only they could save me...but I thought that might be a bad thing. Do you think? Plus...that list would be REALLY short. I swear!
The purpose of the meme is to get to know everyone who participates a little bit better every Thursday. Visiting fellow Thirteeners is encouraged! Who remembers when John Taylor did that solo song for the 9 1/2 Weeks soundtrack?? "I Do What I Do" was the song. I have no real reason to ask besides just to see who remembers it. Just a fleeting 80s moment.
It's that time again...American Idol night. As usual, I will be live blogging. I KNOW! You just can't get enough can you?? Keep checking back for my MOST professional opinions! :)
Tonight, the contestants sing songs from The Great American Songbook. Rod Stewart recently recorded 4 albums full of these classic songs. Tonight could prove to be a boring disaster, but I am hoping not.
From all the clips, it looks like Rod was fun to work with.
Uh oh, Chris is in the 1st spot. Usually means certain death!!
Chris sings "What A Wonderful World." Crossing my fingers as he starts...Oh wow...be still my heart. He can sing. *sigh* Oh wow. I LOVED LOVED LOVED LOVED his performance!!!! What's up with the scarf he's wearing under that suit? ALL the judges loved his performance..even Simon. Just an EXCELLENT performance of that song. So many people try to sing it and sound terrible. Chris was freakin' AWESOME! Seriously, it gave me chills. For me to admit that, it had to be good! I give him 24/25.
Paris sings "Foolish Things." This is Paris' kind of music. She did a really good job, though the song was a tad on the boring side. One of Paris' better performances in a while. I give her 23/25.
Taylor sings "You Send Me". Great song choice for Taylor. Sounds kind of like the band is rushing the song. Oh that was GREAT!! He added some "Taylor flair" to that! AWESOME performance. Again, Simon liked it. I give him 23/25. (he almost got a 24, but the beginning of the song was a tad boring but he quickly turned it around.)
Elliott sings "It Had To Be You." Elliott is so good at this kind of song. Another very good performance! I liked this a LOT. Elliott should stay over Pickler and Ace for sure. His voice was very smooth. I give him 21/25.
Kellie sings "Bewitched,Bothered and Bewildered." Oh Kellie...I thought I was going to have to give her lots of compliments because the song STARTED pretty well. However, it went FLAT at the end. Plus, she rushed the last line..or something. I give her 18/25.
Ace sings "That's All." I just don't care for Ace. This performance was less than wonderful. Lots of really off notes and dude, I STILL hate the falsetto. I give him 17/25.
Katharine sings "Someone To Watch Over Me." She's gorgeous! She is oh so talented. If I were a man, I would totally have a crush on her! This was a wonderful song for Kat to sing. I'm pretty sure there was not a bad note in the whole song. Excellent! I give her 24/25.
Final words...someone shut up Paula! And? Cut her hair and get it out of her face!!!
My Top 3:Katharine, Chris and Taylor (big surprise, huh?) My bottom 2:Kellie and Ace Who I want to go home:Kellie (yeah right)or Ace Who will go home:Ace
Tune in tomorrow for the GTHOTS edition of Ficken Chingers.
Now throw your hands up in the air...wave 'em around like you just don't care...
The title has nothing to do with the post...I was just bopping around to the Backstreet Boys. (shut it! the song came up next on my comcast rhapsody)
Ok, so I've seen this around..but I will give my girl, LC the credit for who I stole it from. Here's a little meme thing (and no, DENISE, I haven't forgetten about how you TAGGED me!! Do you KNOW how hard it is to think of weird things about me?? Huh?? I'll do that one a little later.)
Anyway..the meme thing...
Go to Wikipedia and put in your birthdate (not the year) and then list 3 events, 2 birthdays and 1 death.

Death

oh Lordy... please update us on what Bubba was able to find for the kids' Easter Baskets.
I feel your pain. I've done the late night Walmart run for more than one holiday unfortunately!!!
3:20 AM
And I say....THIS....
Yes, it's all sitting out on the washer. It's the only place the Easter Bunny could leave it without the kids getting up in the middle of the night and seeing. Seriously, my children get up 3 and 4 times a night and wander around, get in my bed, go to pee...etc...
So, he did well. It was all cheap stuff and they were thrilled. I love it when they like that stuff...pre iPod, video games etc...
Easter snuck up on me. We didn't color eggs. I am a bad mom. Hubby took the kids for new shoes and haircuts on Friday. Luckily Tater and Guard Girl have dresses to wear to church. Hubby bought Baby J's outfit Friday, too. We didn't hang one Easter window cling up. I don't even have baskets for them. AND? It is 7:55pm on the evening before Easter and the "Easter Bunny" has nothing for the kids for the morning. I have no car. Bubba had to umpire in Warsaw (almost 3 hours away) and took the car of course. So, guess what this means? I will be going to Wal-mart tonight at 10 or 11 o'clock to pick over the few Easter things that are left. *sigh* I do not look forward to that.
Speaking of Wal-mart...the new one? The one that is less than 5 minutes from my house..more like 3 minutes from my house...opens Wednesday. Yee ha!
Bubba just called...he's heading home AND is going to do Easter Bunny shopping on his way. Yippee!! Have I mentioned how spoiled I am?
Anyway, I make myself mad every stinkin' year. I have such plans. Every January, I tell myself, this is the year that I will decorate for every holiday and make wonderful memories for my kids. It hasn't happened yet. My oldest is 15. Dang. It's not too late though for the other two! I can do it! I can. (sounds good, anyway.)
The kids did get to go to 2 more egg hunts today. One at the church and one at the neighbors house. Mini kit kats are good. I mean, I haven't had one in a long time but if I had one today, I know it would be good. Just sayin...
Hey, kids! More pictures to share! :)
As if he needs more candy.
This little girl's mother should teach her not to stick her head in a plastic bag.
Here's mama sitting on her nest in a tree in the neighbor's yard. The kids were intrigued.
Because I just haven't posted enough pictures lately
"Sometimes when you're alone...all you do is...watch tv...I'm a cowboy...on an old couch I lie...I'm wanted...dead or alive...I've seen a million cartoons..and I've watched them ALL..."
Today at the Easter Egg Hunt at the (ex)babysitter's house. They got a boatload of candy and stuff! (note the designer easter baskets, straight from Wal-mart.)Tater is sporting her newly short hair.
Guard Girl with the Twizzlers she pilfered found at the egg hunt and that she was stuffing in her purse to take to the movies with her tonight.
Storm clouds moving in on the hunt.
My two favorite men.
If only the sweat towel wasn't hanging over his shoulder...

Every once in a while, I have to give a shout out to all those who visit me while searching for all things "ficken." Dudes, I KNOW what ficken means over there, but here? Not so much. There is a link to the story about ficken chingers over on the left side bar. It's silly. My blog is silly. It is not filled with weird porn.
I hope you pervs are disappointed once you get here. :)
(before anyone comments about "well, that's what you get when you name your blog Ficken Chingers." Duh. Yeah I know.)
Remember a few days ago when I planned to spend the day cleaning my room?? Well, let me tell you how spoiled I am. When I got home from work yesterday? Completely clean! (well, ok, not totally, but close enough.) I'm talking closet cleaned out, furniture rearranged, old clothes cleared out, scrap stuff neatly stacked, etc...Is he good or what?? I totally LOVE being the husband.
"I can bring home the bacon...fry it up in a pan..and never never never let you forget you're a man..cause I'm a woman...." (remember that commercial??)
Time once again for the GTHOTS (*Get The Heck Off The Show) episode of Angie-blogs-AI. Tonight, yet another singer is kicked off the show.
I liked what Simon said at the beginning after Ryan called him out for being agitated and grumpy. He said,"America respects honesty." I completely agree.
Next, a very bad montage of Queen for the group song. As I said last year, the group songs just sound like those shows at King's Island.
Messages from friends and family for each of the contests.
Safe: Taylor, Katharine, Chris, Kellie, Paris
The 3 with the lowest number of votes: Elliott, Ace, Bucky
Did you see the look on Kat's face when Kellie was talking about the "snot rag?" It looked kind of like, "Kellie, shut up." Please, someone tell Pickler to stop talking.
I hate the "mic toss" Bucky does 30 times during each song.
Everyone, please remember and say a little prayer today for Stormii and Guppy. Stormii is having surgery today and she could use all the thoughts and prayers we can possibly give. I think Guppy's nerves need some easing as well, so don't forget him. :)
You know you are pathetic and addicted to Idol when you kick your daughter off the computer so you can live blog. Do you know anyone who would do that?? Neither do I, but MAN would that be pathetic!
Guard Girl is watching rapt...she LOVES Queen.
Bucky starts things off with "Fat Bottomed Girls." Ok, I am just not a Bucky fan. This rendition sounds like a church song that I can't quite place. It sounded like gravelly whispering to me. It was ok as Bucky goes. I give him 19/25.
**Guard Girl says** You get a 2-for-1 tonight...You get graced by reading something that I typed...Every Commercial.....You get ME!I heart Queen! Alot! Bucky....Well he did "Fat Bottomed Girls" okay. But..Nothing can top my good 'ol Freddie Mercury...
Ace sings "We Will Rock You." Ace THINKS he's a rocker, but he just isn't. This is not a singer's song. Again, it was just ok. AND? He was doing my LEAST favorite thing for a wannabe rocker (see Constantine last year) carrying around the freaking mic stand!(He still has BAD hair.)I give him 17/25.
Kellie sings "Bohemian Rhapsody." Oh please...HELP ME! Kellie trying to be some kind of vixen. Whatever. She is NOT a rocker either. Eh. Once again, just ok. I give her 18/25.
Chris sings "Innuendo." A song I don't know, but he rocks it. Look at that eyeliner..you go boy! :) If I hear ONE SINGLE PERSON say he is back to the exact same thing can kiss my big toe! He was awesome!! I completely disagree when Simon said it was bad and indulgent. I give him 23/25.
**Guard Girl says** Ace...um No. Dude. No. Kellie so ruined that freaking song.....Chris...is hot. Um he did pretty good...Let us chat.... I can tell the future/read minds.....Okay...Just answer my question....Have you ever...or do you have a grandfather....(Answer now...................) Thank You...I am finished! I am good...You know I am. Don't ya LOVE ME!? (yeah, I don't know what the heck she is talking about, either.)
Katharine sings "Who Wants To Live Forever." Why did she pick a slow song, Kat?? I love you, girl, but if you bore the audience, they vote you out! Not the greatest song choice, but dang, that girl has a great voice! She looks gorgeous, too, as usual. I give her 22/25.
Elliott sings "Somebody To Love." What?? He'd never heard the song before?? Wow! I really, really, really WANT to like Elliott more than I do, but I just can't. I don't know what it is. Anyway, he did ok with this song, seems like his timing is off in several places. It was good, though. I give him 20/25.
Taylor sings "Crazy Little Thing Called Love." Oh my gosh, too funny! He tried to kick the mic stand over and it took two kicks! :) Taylor is totally BACK!! Dancing and singing like Taylor does!! Awesome!! I give him 23/25.
Paris sings "The Show Must Go On." She looks like Kellie, only black. Same hair, same boots, same black clothes. Interesting. She is too young for the vamp look. The band is drowning her out somewhat. She did very well in spots, and in others just ok. I give her 19/25.
By the way, Guard Girl got bored and left to go outside and spin her flag so there was no more commentary from her after Chris.

By the way, I base my choices on performances up to and including tonight. Ace and Bucky should go because they consistantly suck. Chris, Taylor and Katharine should stay because they are consistantly good. AND? Mandisa should still be there!

The top 9 will become the top 8 tonight as we move into the *GET THE HECK OFF THE SHOW episode of American Idol.
I couldn't commit last night to who I think is going home. I hope it is Bucky, but I won't be surprised at all (or unhappy) if it is Ace. I'll be back in a few to blog it LIVE...I know you are all chewing your nails waiting. I'll be hanging out over HERE during the show like I always do.
Be back soon!
Oops..I gave a spoiler here earlier that I shouldn't have. Sorry, TUNIA!!! (Dang!! The "one couple that I really liked" got eliminated on The Amazing race!! I like them!)
And....we're back.
Ryan didn't shave yet.
Recaps *yawn*
And here comes the freakishly weird looking guy with Kenny Rogers' voice. He sends his thoughts and prayers to all the contestants. How sweet. :) Now he sings.
Have I mentioned how much the elimination night drags on? The longest half hour ever.
Commercial. (waiting for the Ford commercial) There it is. This one was pretty cute for a change.
OH MY HECK! Is THAT Kenny Rogers??? What kind of plastic surgery did he have??
And, can I just say that Simon's hair is so bad. I hate it and I have always hated it. Who has a freakin LONG flattop with a part down the center. Ew.
First up is Taylor singing "Take Me Home Country Roads." I loves me some Taylor. Always will. I knew as soon as he started singing that the judges wouldn't like him. Even though this song was kind of boring and safe for him, he did an excellent job. His voice sounds so smooth to me. He still deserves to be in the top and I hope he stays. I give him 20/25.
Mandisa sings "Any Man of Mine." The first part of the song seemed very hard for Mandisa. The low notes were not so good. Mandisa is sooo good, but this song was just a poor choice. I give her 20/25.
Elliott sings "If Tomorrow Never Comes." Um, no. I just didn't like it so much. The beginning sounded pretty bad, but he did get better. Not much else to say except I thought it was boring. I give him 19/25.
Paris sings "How Do I Live." I'm not loving it. There is still something about Paris that bothers me. Kind of like she is trying to sound older than she is. Not a wonderful song choice. The beginning of the song was a little strained or something. She did ok, though. I give her 19/25.
Ace sings "I Wanna Cry" Yet again, boring. Someone wake me when this is all over. And again with the falsetto? I just didn't like it at all. I give him 17/25.
Kellie speaks...lord help me.
Kellie sings "Fancy." Whatever. I love this song, but, I just don't think she has a very good voice. Nothing else to say that I haven't said in weeks past. I give her 20/25.
Ok, we had a big power outage right before Bucky sang and I hadn't saved my comments after Kellie, so bear with me because I am trying to go on memory now of what I had already written.
Chris sings "Making Memories of Us." (I think.) I loved the softer lighter side of Chris. Maybe everyone will stop grumbling now about his rock songs. blah blah blah.... I love his voice and even though the song was slow, he did a really great job. I give him 23/25.
Katharine sings "Bringing Out the Elvis In Me." LOVE her!! She was just so fun and peppy. She's gorgeous and has a great voice. Not her best ever, but really really good! I give her 22/25.
Bucky sings "The Best I Ever Had." Who sang this in the country world? I have no idea...anyway, all I really got to see was the clip during the recap and it didn't sound all that great. I can't really score Bucky fairly, though, since I didn't hear the whole song. I'll wait until I catch the clip somewhere on the net.
Well, I have to say I was highly UNimpressed with these songs and performances tonight. I guess my expectations are too high, but I want to be WOWED as we get closer to the final 3. Ha..getting so deep about a tv show. It's good bad entertainment and I love it!! :)
Until tomorrow and the GTHOTS episode...nighty night.
Almost forgot! My top 3: Chris, Katharine and can't decide who the third is. Taylor or Mandisa I think. My bottom 3:Ace, Bucky (even though I didn't hear the whole song) and Elliott or Paris.
Who I want to go home:Bucky Who will go home:It's too hard to tell, I can't commit...
Exactly 2 weeks from tommorow something BIG is happening around here. I mean HUGE! I mean something of colossal proportions. Seriously, on April 19th I won't be the same. My family won't be the same. Many people in this fair city will not be the same. What is this something, you ask?
The new WAL-MART is opening LESS THAN 5 MINUTES FROM MY HOUSE!
My giddyness (giddiness?) knows no measure.
Now, if that isn't proof of just how pathetic I really am...then I just don't know what would prove it to you.
All you Wal-Mart haters, don't bother to comment. You are enigmas to me..anomalies if you will. (two really cool words in one sentence. I ROCK!) See, you have to understand where I live. The walmart already in this city is more than 20 gas-sucking minutes away. All the stinking way across town. We have NOTHING on this side of town except for a couple of grocery stores and a Dollar General Store. I can't get those lusted-after "rolled back" prices just anywhere, people! We can't just "run to wal-mart" when we NEED a new gold fish, a 150 lb bag of Ol' Roy dog food and a bag of 100 multicolored pipe-cleaners all at the same time!! Come on! Wait. We don't have a dog. Or an aquarium.
Anyway, this is a huge event in the lives of us south-siders. No more wasting gas to get ALL THE WAY to Walmart, Target or god help us, the mall. (I hate the mall!) A hop skip and jump and I will be warmly greeted by a blue-vested sweetie at the door who offers to stickerize my returns. Watch out 'cause I will be the one making a bee-line for the layaway department and after safely laying those things away...I'll be the one with two carts full o' wal-marty happiness heading to the checkout lines.
You didn't recognize me did ya??? Did ya? Huh??? You had to look twice at the header to make sure it was me didn't ya?? Well..IT'S ME!!!! Isn't it GREAT??? Isn't it pretty?? Isn't it just full of yummy 3 COLUMN goodness??? I am so in love with my blog I just have to stare at it. :)
Now, big ups...props..and THANK YOUS go to my girl Denise over at MOODSWING CREATIONS for fixing up my blog and making it BEAUTIFUL!! Please, visit her and think about becoming her customer! She has a blog, too. Go visit her HERE! She's a great read!!
Thanks, Denise!! Now the rest of you who haven't, can now leave me lots of comments telling me how gorgeous and divine my blog is!
One more thing, please excuse my big ugly face over there! I am in the process of finding something better. :)
TATER(to her little bro):"Girls have baginas. Boys have...something else." BABY J:"UH UH! Boys hab baginas! TATER:"Mommy! Do boys have baginas?" ME:"No, they don't." TATER:"See?" (smart aleck face at her brother) ME:"Bubby, boys have a penis." BABY J:"UH UH! I hab a bagina!"
I just took a shower and shaved my legs. ALL. THE. WAY. UP. Either Bubba is gettin' some tonight or I've lost my damn mind. Do you KNOW how long it takes to shave THUNDEROUS THIGHS??
My mind..it is all a jumble..read at your own risk
I have a ton of things..little things...that I want to talk about. This post will probably end up being all over the place. I would put it all in bullets because I want to be like Miss Zoot because I am in love with blogging by bullets, but I'll spare you the pain.
We did go to the movies Friday. We saw Cheaper By the Dozen 2. It was actually pretty good. The kids watched the whole movie and loved it. Baby J only went to potty twice. They seemed pretty mesmerized by the experience. I totally forgot my camera so there are no photos to show you. We stopped at a dollar store on the way and bought snacks and water and snuck took that in. So, for four people to see a movie, with snacks, it was only $7 and some change. Woo hoo! Can't beat that.
Have I ever mentioned that I totally LUST after HER BLOG TEMPLATE and that I totally would decorate my living room like that so I could look at it all day all the time??? Well, I do. (but I really wouldn't do my living room like that...maybe my bathroom.)
I just realized that the kid in the movie SMALL SOLDIERS is totally Ephram from Everwood--which I haven't watched in something like 2 years or more...but that first season? LOVED it!
I am completely into linkage today...
Yesterday, while messing around on the computer, I was watching videos on VH1 CLASSIC and for a few minutes...I was 16 again. Pure 80s heaven right there! First, I saw..."Save A Prayer" by those beautiful boys in Duran Duran whom I was going to jump on stage with during their concert and handcuff myself to. I was 14, shut it. It sounded like a good plan at the time!
Then, they played AC/DC, You Shook Me All Night Long, which, is that the title? Or is it just You Shook Me?? Actually, I don't care because I really can't stand them, but it did remind me of those times..back in the day.
After that..they played..Home Sweet Home by Motley Crue!! I haven't seen that video in years. I never liked that band much, either, but I did like that song. Men with huge hair and lots of make up. Ahhh...those were the days! You know I'm a dreamer....but my heart's of gold...
The DIET lifestyle change that should result in a thinner me? Not going so great. I DID walk during lunch one day this week. One. Since then, I've eaten like crap. It's highly discouraging. Especially when I have so freakin far to go. I hate what I am. I KNOW there is a skinny me in there. I'm pretty sure she is being suffocated by all the FAT. *sigh*
Favorite line from a blog lately..."Charlie! C'mere. I need you to eat some more smooth 'n' creamy death paste." from THIS BLOG where Julie talks about her son's possible peanut allergy. Ya had to be there. I laughed very hard.
In case you didn't know, I live in Indiana. Last night/this morning, we joined the rest of the world..(ok,I really don't know exactly who all does this), in moving our clocks ahead one hour. What's the big deal?? Why all the fuss?? I didn't even notice. Bubba changed all important clocks (except for the computer, which I JUST noticed.) last night before he went to bed. No biggie. I completely do NOT feel like I lost an hour. It's just another day on the Ficken Chingers Ranch where we raise Big Buckin chickens for Burger King. (how's that for a segue?) Yay! Someone finally put it on YouTube!! I've been searching for a photo at the very least of the Big Buckin Chicken for WEEKS!! And now for your viewing pleasure...
So disturbing, yet funny.
I've come across several blogs while surfing BlogMad lately cracking on those of us who watch, follow, talk about, blog about and complain about American Idol. Saying such things as "Don't these people have lives??" I shan't (who actually uses that word??) try to defend my stalking of the Idol..however, I will say, CHEAP AND EASY ENTERTAINMENT! Not to mention great blog fodder!! I'll either say that or...BITE ME!
Really, I haven't talked about any of the things I was going to talk about at the beginning of this post. Eh...those things can wait.
