2 out of 3 ain't bad |
So, I called 2 out of three of the bottom 3 for Rockstar tonight. I'm smart like that. I knew it was wishful thinking when I said Suzie would be in the bottom 3. But Jordis?? Come on! However, I think she did great on her INXS song, which for the life of me, I can't think of which one it was. Underwhelming per the INXS guy...whatever. His opinion is sooo wrong! ;) Anyway, Ty was a good choice to go home. He just doesn't fit the band. JD is a complete ass and needs to be booted ASAP. He is nothing but a suck-up and a bully.
I think I have a girl crush on Jordis. Oh...did I say that out loud??
News on the Bubba front. It is NOT a disk. I repeat, it is NOT a disk!! Woo hoo! Now the doctor he had to see today thinks it is just some sort of muscle injury. He has to go to physical therapy and he is on anti-inflammatory drugs and muscle relaxers for night time. He's still off work for now. He goes back to the doctor in 2 weeks.
I have to mention the hurricane devastation because I haven't yet, and I don't want you all to think I am insensitive. I am, in fact, very upset about it. I have spent a lot of time watching news reports and crying for all those people who have lost their homes, their loved ones and their lives as they knew them. I can't imagine how they feel and what they are going through. I don't have a link here, but please, donate if you can to the Red Cross or another charity which will help the people in New Orleans and Mississippi.
One more thought on Katrina and the aftermath. Looters. It sickens me how non-chalant they are walking out of stores with big screen tvs (hello? No house? Where are you going to put it??) and 15 pairs of Nikes. I just sit here and get so mad! A natural disaster does NOT entitle you to anything you want from any store. Just STOP! I can better understand looting for water or food or formula for your baby, but tvs and such. Uh uh. Nope. No argument will sway me on that one.
I'm off to see what's going on with the BB6 live feeds, then I am going to bed. Or I might battle my blog a while.
Oh, wait..I'm not done with the Katrina thing. The ones who want to now start talking shit about President Bush and how he is handling the tragedy and what he is or isn't doing?? Just shut the hell up! This is NOT political! The president will do what he can, but first the situation must be assessed. Just stop! And next? To the ones grumbling and complaining about, "well, now let's see if the countries that we help will help us..blah blah blah..." WTF? Yeah, let's call up Africa and see if they want to send us some of their food. Oh wait. That's right, people are starving over there, so they have no food to send. Money?? Yeah. Whatever. We've been helping Iraq. How about we just call them up and ask for a little some'n some'n? Uh huh. Sure. This is just slightly different than a freakin' terrorist attack. Just STOP! Actually, I think NASA planned this, using the space shuttle to secretly stir up the weather to cause a HUGE hurricane that would devastate thousands and thousands of people...and cause the gas prices to SOAR!!! Yeah, that's it. |

Cry me a fricken river... |
Are the people in the BB6 house actually ADULTS?? Come on Ivette! Sure, it was a disappointment to not get the phone call, but to run out and bawl? Please. I would miss the hell out of my family and would probably cry a little when I got to thinking about them, but to bawl and have all the others falling all over me to make me feel better. Good grief. But I am getting ahead of myself...
April...stop with the "y'all." It is grating on my nerves. Now, before any of y'all southerners get mad at me...I loves me some southern twang...I have TENNESSEE blood coursing through these veins...it's just HER! That voice! UGH!
April, just stop doing everything you do. Then, and only then, I would be happy.
Maggie, if she wins this thing, I will...I will...well, I'll be mad. :) She is the puppet master of the friendship.
Ivette, stop trying to save James. It won't work. As much as I want him to stay, he's leaving this week. Still, no one can deny he played the game well.
Beau. Beau who? He does nothing but scream like a girl. Sad but true. He will do whatever Ivette does.
Howie, I love ya, but you are dumber than a box of rocks. Rachel was your brains. Too bad your brains left last week. He may just stupid his way to the final 2 or 3.
James, I had such faith, but they just got lucky. Sorry you have to go, because you deserve the prize.
Janelle, despite the ditzy buxom blonde thing, you are smart. You've managed to stay a long time despite the others despising you. If you get lucky enough you might make it to the end.
How comical was it to watch the friendship belly ache about how there was NO WAY America would have voted for Janelle to get a phone call from Michael?? The friendship are in for a rude awakening when they get out of that house! April ticked me off, though, calling America and BB stupid and pieces of sh**. I haven't figured her out. She cusses like a sailor then is offended by the least little thing. I hate to tell the Nerd Herd, but for as much as Janelle and Howie has bad-mouthed them and said nasty stuff, the NH has done is times 10, only in those little whispery voices in the HOH room. Sorry, but "integrity" went out the window a long time ago! Could you believe how catty they were about that phone call, though?? April saying, "I'm a frickin' newlywed and they voted for janelle to talk to someone she knew for 2 weeks?" It really doesn't matter if she wanted to talk to her mail man! She won, girls. Get over it!
How exactly did April win that veto? I need to rewatch the tape. She was in freakin' LAST place and she won??
Thursday's HOH competition will be a nail biter! :) I get waaaay too into these shows...
Rockstar:INXS was really good tonight for a change. Jordis redeemed herself for the bad week she had last week. I thought almost everyone did well, except for JD. And Ty was just ok. No one will agree with me on this, but just because the song is "big" and the band was awesome playing it, does not mean that Suzie was awesome! She did ok, but not great. INXS slobbered all over her and Dave "stupid remarks" Navarro practically kissed her toes. I think it should be JD, Ty and Suzie in the bottom. I'm sure I'm wrong. :)
I was going to post some pictures tonight, but I think I will wait 'til tomorrow.
See you on the hump day! |

Of Sunday mornings and cell phones |
Happy Sunday, everyone!
I really need to do a BUNCH of laundry today. I should be doing laundry right now. For some reason I am sitting in this stupid computer chair once again battling my blog and blog exploding. It's a sickness, yo. I promise it is not just me. When my computer sees me coming, the mouse starts moving on it's own..kinda like a ouija board. (I don't believe in that stuff, I swear!!) As I approach, it moves that little curser over to my favorites and clicks on Blog Explosion. Then? The keys on the keyboard are depressed without me even touching them!! It signs me in and, well, I can't just ignore the battles! I HAVE to vote! You've got to understand, it's NOT me!!
If you don't Blog Explode, click here. But don't say I didn't warn you!
Also on my sunday agenda besides laundry. A shower! Feeling pretty skanky right about now. You should see my hair. My hair will thank me. So will my family!
After doing a meme the other day and answering (or not answering) some questions about a cell phone, I just had to comment a little. Most people's reactions to my not having a cell phone is..."WHAT? You don't have a cell phone? How do you live without a cell phone??" It's easy. I just don't call people while I am in Wal-mart. I wait until I get home. I don't wreck my car trying to talk to someone. I wait til I get home. I don't drive way out in the boondocks so if my car breaks down I can walk to the nearest gas station or restaurant and use the phone. I don't worry about missed calls. I don't share private phone conversations with everyone around me. I don't yell "CAN YOU HEAR ME?" for the entire doctor's office to hear. And?? I am not that easily accessible! I don't want to be called while I am out. I hate the regular telephone ringing, why would I want to be bothered as I drive or shop or pee in a public restroom??? I leave the house to get away from things like the phone. I can live without a cellphone. My parents got one for my daughter. Yes, I have called her. But you know what, I didn't have to. She could live without a cell phone, too. My husband recently bought one of those go phones by cingular that you pre-pay. You know what? He could live without a cell phone in the real world, but he does need it for work, so I make an exception. The gist of what I am saying here?? I HATE CELL PHONES!!

Someone get me a tissue...I'm a little verklempt |
My precious, innocent sensibilities have been....offended. Jay over at Kill the Goat posted her "Friday F***fest" yesterday. This week's "f***tard?" MY Mark Ruffalo. The Mark Ruffalo of my "list." And here I was getting all excited about his new movie with Reese Witherspoon coming out soon. It's called "Just Like Heaven."
I loves me a good chick flick. A good chick flick with Mark Ruffalo? Um, yeah, I'm there! Funny thing is...Jay's "Friday's Most F***able?" Steve Martin.
(I'm not really offended. I love Mark Ruffalo, but, I don't care who doesn't. :)
(How many more times can I say Mark Ruffalo in this post??) |

It's all right...cause I'm saved by the bell... |
Hey, xtessa, Zack, Slater, and Kelly are from "Saved By the Bell." Did they never play the re-runs where you are? It was a cheesy teen sitcom that was actually pretty funny as those things go. Here's a pic...
Here's a funny picture of Big Brother 6 that I found somewhere on a message board or something. I can't quite remember.
Speaking of BB6...I forgot to give my thoughts on Thursday's show. (possible spoilers because I've been reading the live feeds.) Basically, I am disgusted with it. It couldn't have gone worse. Rachel is gone so Howie will pretty much run around the house as a big talking penis because Rachel kept him relatively sane and actually WAS his brain! I soooo wanted James to get HOH, but "I-am-more-annoying-than-Ivette-now" April won. I am not convinced that she wasn't fed answers ahead of time!:) It just seems strange to me that there hasn't been a repeat HOH. Janelle should have gotten that tie-breaker question. Anyway, what the heck was up with Ivette's absolute HATRED for Rachel?? It was like out of left field when they showed her goodbye message to Rachel. Hey, guppy or Storms what happened that made Ivette hate her so much? What did I miss?? I think it is so funny that James is still around. I haven't seen anyone play the game as well since Dr. Will way back when. He continues to play both sides and they LET him! And they keep him around!! I love it. I really hope they don't backdoor him this week, but I won't hold my breath. If they are smart they will get rid of Ivette. That ain't gonna happen, though. Ok, I won't put any spoilers in, even though I know who got nominated and who won POV. What I will say is that I find it quite comical that the "friendship" thinks that America doesn't like Howie or Janelle but just loves and respects them! Ha Ha...the joke is on them!
Here's some pictures because I just like to post pictures.
This is from 1971 and it is all my cousins on my mom's side, except for a couple that weren't born yet. That's me, the baby in the red dress.
This is the last time I wore a bikini.
This was our first family photo after Guard Girl was born. Look at Bubba's flat top. And my hair, wow.
Here we are two years later. My hair got shorter and bigger.
One of my favorite pictures of Guard Girl. :)
I'll stop for now. But you know once I get started with pictures, I may never stop! :) |

more info about the 80's...go figure |
So, I stole this little meme from Cristie who stole it from someone else. Since it is about high school and that was in the 80's, well, I just HAVE to do it.
The high school years...
What year was it? 1985 to 1989
What was your favorite outfit? acid washed jeans, probably with a yolk and pleats in the front, know what I mean? Jeans were most likely rolled up tightly at the bottom. If it was winter, a brightly colored sweater with a turtle neck under. I did NOT do t-shirts in high school. Ever.
What was up with your hair? I was famous for my hair. I was letting it grow out and my goal was for it to be long, long, long...way below my brastrap in back. :) It was always permed and everyone envied my hair. My hair is what Bubba loved first about me. :)
Who were your best friends? Connie, Ron, Jason, Laura, Inge, Monica Those were the ones I was closest to, though I could list a bunch of other friends.
What did you do after school? I was usually the manager of one of the sports teams, so I would go hang out at practice and fill water bottles. (I got a letter jacket for that!) I was also photographer for the yearbook and newspaper so I was at some sport event or extra curricular activity taking pictures. I watched a lot of tv (can you imagine??), but mostly music videos, back when Mtv played them. Homework came last unfortunately.
Where did you work? um..I got money from the bank of daddy. :)
Did you take the bus? Freshman year I rode with a friends mom, or my cousin who was a senior. Once I got my license, I drove myself and everyone else who needed a ride.
Who did you have a crush on? Freshman year I had a HUGE crush on a guy named John Hines who was a junior. He was in my French class and spent the whole class time staring at him. I wanted to ask him to the Sadie Hawkins dance but I totally chickened out. All four years, my secret, or not so secret crush was on a guy named Corey. He was tan and beautiful. Or so I thought.
Did you fight with your parents? Not much, but when I did, it was with my mom.
Who did you have a CELEBRITY crush on? Who DIDN'T I have a celebrity crush on?? The guys in Duran Duran, of course. The guys from "The Outsiders" like Tom Cruise, C Thomas Howell, Ralph Macchio, Matt Dillon etc..
Did you lug all of your books around in your backpack all day because you were too nervous to find your locker? Usually not a backpack but a great big bag. I went to my locker a couple of times a day, but usually I carried almost every thing that I needed. I had a little trouble with getting to class on time. :)
Did you have a 'clique'? I ran with so many different people, I didn't really belong to one clique.
Did you have "The Max" like Zach Kelly and Slater? Not really, but after every dance "everybody" would go to Mcdonalds and hang out until time to go home.
Admit it, were you popular? I was probably somewhere in the middle where popularity was concerned. Everyone knew me, though. Whatever guy I dated usually improved my popularity. Once I started dating Bubba, EVERYBODY knew me...though not necessarily by name, but by either "Bubba's lady" or "Bubba-ette" (NOT a good nickname for a girl!!)
Who did you want to be just like? hmmm..there were people I wanted to look like, but not anyone in particular that I wanted to be like.
What did you want to be when you grew up? I really had no idea. For a while I thought I would be a physical therapist or an optometrist, but I am neither one. |

Wha?? Do they think something like that will make someone open these emails?? I wish I hadn't deleted the others in the past couple of days. They are quite entertaining.

DING DONG |
A couple of days ago, Bubba went to the store and bought some Twinkies and..you guessed it, Ding Dongs! Well, as you can imagine, HILARITY ensued.
Tater: I want a ding dong! I LOVE Ding Dongs! Mommy? Do you love Ding Dongs, too? Mommy: Yes, honey, I LOVE Ding Dongs.
(much snickering and laughing from Daddy and Mommy, both.)

Deanna went home on RockStar:INXS. I'm glad because they were never going to pick her, so it's best to get rid of her now rather than to drag it out.
Guppy, I downloaded Jordis' performance and have listened to it a few times now. It's not that bad, really. I think she was nervous about that one note the whole song. I'm just glad she wasn't in the bottom 3, though I think she would kick boo-tay on an INXS song!

BB6 & Rockstar:INXS |
*YAWN* Oh, hi. What? You say BB6 was on tonight? Yeah, I think I slept through that one. It was so boring I couldn't keep my eyes open. Beau put up Howie and Rachel, blah blah blah....James won veto, blah blah blah...James didn't use veto blah. blah. freakin' blah. Howie's still a doofus. Loveable, but a doofus. April needs to be thrown over the BB wall. IVETTE NEEDS TO STOP SCREAMING WHEN SHE TALKS!!!! And where the heck did she get all the hatred toward Rachel?? What did we all miss? The Cappy shrine? GAG ME! How many freaking weeks has it been since Cappy was kicked off?? Get over it, girls. He ain't coming back. "Let's do it for Cappy, man. Do it for Cappy." (That was a reference to an 80s movie. Can anyone guess??) Nothing else happened. Snoozefest. Snooze-a-palooza.
RockStar:INXS. CBS teased us with a commercial saying they got to sing their own songs this week. Yeah. Two of them got to. They drew names from a hat and Mig and Deanna were chosen.
They need to just go ahead and kick everyone else off and keep Jordis, Mig and Marty and go from there. This is being dragged out way too long!
Mig did well and so did Marty, though he sounds like he is singing the same song every week. Jordis, who is my FAVORITE, did well except for that HIGH NOTE that she shouldn't have even attempted. Dave "what I say makes no sense" Navarro came down on her. Jeez, it wasn't that bad. She actually kicked it all the way up to that note. Ty did really well on his song and I usually don't like him much. Everyone else? Boring. JD needs to be brought down a few notches. He thinks he is Rock Star god!
Jordis had better not get kicked off. That is all I'm saying. |

A little bit of this...a little bit of that |
* I just realized that I didn't meet & greet with Michele at all this weekend. No, wait, I think I did...once.
* I totally FAILED at the happiness in August thing. I started strong but let it die. I guess I am just not all that happy this August.
* It's NOT Bubba's rotator cuff...it may be a herniated disk. Oh happy day. MRI, specialist, physical therapy to come.
* I missed a half day of work today sitting in the ortho doc office. I forgot how much I like People magazine.
* I ALMOST got a picture of Guard Girl and Drummer Boy kissing goodbye tonight when I dropped him off at his house. Maybe next time.
* Why isn't BB6 on every night?? I NEED it to be.
* I extend my apologies to guppyman for providing a little too much "TMI" earlier today. Sorry, gup, it's a girl thang.
* I managed to avoid a panic attack and went to the funeral home yesterday. I saw people who I wanted to see, but who I didn't want to see me, if that makes sense. It almost caused vomit-inducing nerves. Someone get me a Xanax.
* Wal-mart bathrooms are yucky.
* My bedroom is a pig sty. I will hire you to clean it, name your price!
* Bubba, though injured, is still a perv.
* (Look away, guppy)Aunt Bitch? She spared me the cramps this month.
* Why do others, when they find out about your injury, or pregnancy, or illness, have an overwhelming need to share their HORROR stories??
* I watched a special on 9/11 on the National Geographic channel tonight and it still gives me chills and makes me cry.
Ok, I'm gonna do the meme that I've seen around...most currently at Present Storms.
The rules are as follows...
List five songs that you are currently digging - it doesn't matter what genre they are from, whether they have words...or even if they're not any good, but they must be songs you're really enjoying right now.
Post these instructions and the five songs (with artist) in your blog.
Then tag five people to see what they're listening to.
Ok, here are mine.
1)Don't Cha--Pussycat Dolls
2)Don't Lie--Black Eyed Peas
3)Man Who Sold The World--as sung by Jordis Unga on Rockstar:INXS (Jordis kicks some major boo-tay!)
4)Collide--Howie Day
5)Slither--Velvet Revolver (or Fall To Pieces, I like them both)
I'm supposed to tag 5 people, but I won't. I will just STRONGLY encourage you all to do this so I can see what music you all like. Except for TARA who knows that she is perpetually tagged for every meme I do. |

Some things that ticked me off about BB6 last night |
First, let me say for the hundreth time, I really do love reality tv. I love to hate it. I love to complain about it. Glutton for punishment...or bad tv, I guess.
So, who watched? I know, I know, Kaysar is gone so why bother? I HAVE to keep watching so I can root for the "good guys."
It was no surprise, of course, that Jen got evicted. Her touching speech was just so...gag-inducing. "...I'm wealthy in my life..boo hoo.." Some of the things she was saying before she got evicted, in the diary room, I could not believe. Talking about throwing the key when Janelle came to get it from her, she said, "I was going to give the key up in an adult manner..." NONE of the houseguests are acting like adults so they shouldn't pretend to be.
When Janelle said, "Bye bye, bitches," the look on April's face was just too much. She said, "that was immature..." Pot? Kettle? Yeah.
Maggie said Janelle is a "bad winner."
Howie called her Jedi Janie. Howie is such a lovable doofus even if he is a perv. See? I do like Howie, but he needs to calm down just a little. He is calming down now, but I think Rachel was ready to beat him up if he didn't stop with the freaking out and name calling and all that.
Here was one of my favorite quotes from April. "The more I think about it the more I see that Ivette is playing for herself in this game. And Beau." Duh!? If you go into a game like BB and don't play for yourself, then you only have yourself to blame if you lose. You truly can't trust anyone else.
The veto competition was a nail-biter for a minute. I was so afraid someone would beat Janelle, but since I already knew Jen was gone, I knew the outcome. Did you notice that Maggie mentioned Eric. How can an episode go by without Eric being mentioned in some way? I loved the look on all their faces when Janelle saved Maggie!! Priceless. An excellent strategic move to ensure Jen being evicted!
Jen taking her picture of Dan to sit beside her when she was talking to Julie. Come on...she's like a 15 year-old. And I just like her so much more to know that she "sacrificed herself" for her group.
Beau got HOH...wonder what will happen now? I'm off to read some live feeds. |

OK (a NON-BB6 post for once) |
See that title? That was the answer we got from Guard Girl when we asked how her first day of school went on Thursday. "Ok." It's like pulling teeth to get details from her. You have to ask her a specific question to get any kind of details. I was like.."Just ok? What happened? Who'd you sit with at lunch? Do you like your teachers? Did you get lost? Who do you sit by in class?" She had a good first day and second day it seems. She has tons of friends from being in guard for a year already so she fits in well. Drummer Boy (her boyfriend) is in 8th grade so he is at a different school. That is a bummer for her, but we'll see what happens.
I went in to work yesterday morning and found out that a girl I went to school with had died the day before. People my age, that I know, are not supposed to die, you know? I work with her husband and I went to high school with both of them. It's weird because in high school, we didn't like each other. Because of a guy. Bubba. See, this girl went out with Bubba's best friend for a LONG time. Then they broke up and the guy started going out with someone else. She still wanted him so she started going after Bubba to get at him. Now, this happened to be at a time when me and Bubba had broken up. One day I called him and asked him to come over. I went to pick him up and there he stood with this girl and her friend. I was so ticked off! I can remember questioning him about her and I remember confronting her in the stairwell at school telling her to stay away from Bubba. I can still see it, I was going up and she was going down and we yelled at each other as we went and got farther and farther away from each other. So, anyway, after that, we just never liked each other. From high school on, if we ever saw each other, we just didn't speak. And in recent years it was just that we didn't know each other so why pretend to be friends when we had never been friends? Nothing bad, just simple as that. Anyway, several years ago, I heard that she had breast cancer. Then, a few years ago her husband started working for the company that I work for. I was pretty good friends with her husband in high school because we had the same circle of friends. He is just a great guy. I would hear "through the grapevine" that she was having recurrances of the cancer spreading here and there through her body. In the past year, her husband would send out emails to update everyone on her condition because it was so hard to go around telling everyone. Not sure why I told such a long story about that...but it is just so sad. They have two young boys. Tomorrow, several of us from work and Bubba, too, will be going to calling hours to pay our respects. Now...here is the part that makes me feel like a really bad person. I'mdreading seeing people from high school that I know will more than likely be there. Why? Because I have gained a bunch of weight. I know, I shouldn't care what people think..but I do. Plain and simple. I'm gonna bite the bullet though. Hopefully, by our 20 (!) year reunion I will have lost some noticable weight!! (Tara, New York is only 8 1/2 months away! Surely I can lose some by then. Gotta catch that photo op, don't ya know. hee hee)
More Friday fun...I had been at work for only about 15 minutes and Bubba called me. He said, "I'm going to the hospital!" He sounded like he was crying...scared me to death! Seems he had gone to lift a bag of salt off his truck at work and he heard/felt a huge pop in his right shoulder with excrutiating pain and he fell to his knees screaming. So, his boss had to pick him up and take him to the ER. I left work and met him over there. He could barely move at all and they took him back immediately. They had to cut his shirt off because he couldn't raise his right arm enough and they were just determined to get a gown on him. He ended up with one arm in the gown...good thing he got it on! He had to have xrays and the doc is pretty sure it is a rotator cuff injury. Wonderful news..probably surgery ahead for Bubba. He has to see and Orthopedic dr next week. He's off work for a week..for now. Probably much more. He's been in major pain since it happened. Even with Vicodin.
Me and Guard Girl went to a baby shower today for one of my co-workers. It was fine, but long and dragged out. It all could have been compacted into much less time. She got a ton of cute stuff. Afterward, I took GG to Drummer boy's so they could hang out for a while. Watched BB..have a few thoughts, but that can wait til another post.
Gotta go get my kids ready for bed. |

*SOB* *SNIFF* (for BB6 fans only. others will be bored to tears) |
Don't cry, Kaysar...America still loves you, even though those skanky ho-bags got the best of you and voted you off! I know you are a little teensy bit embarrassed that Jenny tricked you, but you're H-O-T, so it doesn't matter.
You should always smile, Kaysar...like this.
Ok, tonights episode just royally ticked me off for so many reasons...first of all, the recap of the HOH competition just made me mad again...yelling and screaming at Kaysar..."NO NO NO! Don't believe her!!!" He didn't listen this time, either. Huh, go figure.
Then, when Jenny was in the HOH room, or was it the Gold room, talking to Julie alone, did anyone else want to keep coughing *cough*bullshit*cough the entire time?? She managed to say nothing and still talked for 5 minutes! She gave the same tired answers that she gave Kaysar all week long.
Now, my BIGGEST pet peeve of the night...the selective editing by the BB6 powers that be...did you guys notice?? They totally showed mostly Howie going off or Janelle being a smart ass and they made it look like the other side just frowned and cried (April) and bitched about it but didn't say anything back. Those of us "in the know", we know better! Complete and utter baloney!
No surprise that kaysar was evicted. Kaysar handled himself well tough. Very classy. The smile on his face when Julie told him that he got 82% of the America votes was just priceless! I loves me some Kaysar. I just wish he was going to the sequester house. One more thing about Kaysar...I love his curls! Bubba has had great curls like that..but he shaves his head completely bald now. Dang it.
More pet peeves. James carrying around that veto ribbon...get over it, dude.
April pursing her lips ALL. THE. TIME. April being a big baby. Yes, it sucks that Howie was saying mean things, but grow a back bone, girl. Do you not know that Howie is doing it to BREAK YOU DOWN!? (go Howie!!) April, please stop saying, "I don't care!" You DO care.
So Kaysar left, only hugging those who actually offered a hug. Needless to say, everyone didn't hug Kaysar. The houseguests were immediately taken outside and tarred and feathered set up for the HOH competition. Now here is where it gets good. It gets down to Beau, Janelle and April. They are being asked questions about previous competitions. The tie breaker question is "how many light bulbs did it take to spell "sold out" in the luxury comp?" they had to write a number on a big board and whoever came closest without going over got HOH. There is brewing controversy over this next thing. Beau turned his board around. Julie said, "houseguests, I need your answers." As she said that, Janelle turned her around but it was upside down(it said 300), but she was writing on the other side, having changed her mind. AT THE SAME TIME~~april was still writing her answer. They put their markers down and turned the board around and Janelle came closest and won HOH. The other houseguests are trying to say Janelle cheated, but I have watched it over and over and she did not cheat. Wishful thinking on their part. :)
After Janelle won, she ran over to get the key and Jen threw it!
Janelle is HOH and had to put two people up for eviction right away. She chose Jen and Maggie! woo hoo! The eviction ceremony will be saturday. It's going to be an interesting couple of days.
I lost my whole train of thought so I'll end it now. Back to a normal post tomorrow I hope. ;) |

You fat lard! |
My daughter starts high school tomorrow. High. School. Oh. My. God.
I can't talk about it right now.
Me and Guard Girl went shopping earlier to get her a new shirt for the first day of school. She got new jeans the other night but Wal-mart didn't have anything in the way of tops, so off to the mall we went tonight. It's the night before the first day of school and the mall? Not a bit crowded! Where the heck are all the other procrastinators?? Did they all take a course on not procrastinating that I missed?? Well, that was ok, because we didn't have to fight crowds.
Anyway, GG got a new pair of Nike shox. $105 on sale. Don't you wish you were me? Then down to Old Navy where she found a new top. A girly top. NOT a concert tshirt. NOT a classic rock t-shirt. Something that would make her look like a girl. Success! She found a cute button down and two, yes, two tanks to go underneath. It's all about the layers don't you know. Then to Hot Topic for some new buttons to put on her new book bag. Oh! Speaking of buttons...look what I got to display in my drab gray cubicle (I almost typed cuticle right there..)....
It's a button...isn't it cool?? I just need an acid washed jean jacket to pin it to! In the mean time, it'll go on my "wall" by my desk.
Look what else I got. For my cubicle.
I know, I know, Napoleon Dynamite is sooooo yesterday, but it is so funny. And I do a mean impression of him that cracks my co-workers up. So I got one for me and one for my friend at work. She will crack up when I give it to her. Hey, if anyone wants to get me the magnet sets at Hot Topic, feel free!
I have to be at work tomorrow at 6am so I will totally miss taking pictures of GG on her first day of school. I have taken first and last day of school pictures since she started kindergarten. I will have to relenquish that power to Bubba. He'll be so thrilled.
I'm off to bed, but let me just say this....BB6 is pissing me off!
If I were in that house, I would knock that flip floppin freakin sideways hat off Howie's head!! Drives me batty!
If I told you all the things about the other houseguests that drive me crazy..you'd just call me catty.
Ok, and for the Kaysar fans...I can't close the post with out them...

And lead me not into BB6 temptation |
I totally blame that blog couple from Texas. You know the one. They're married. They blog. You see them on Battle of the Blogs all the time. I blame them. I blame them for my lack of self control.
GUPPYMAN and PRESENT STORMS I blame you!!! You tempted me with information regarding the BB6 live feeds. You hinted. You alluded. You sucked me in!!
Yes, that's right, I was weak. I gave in and although I did not actually BUY the live feeds...I have been reading the live feed recaps. And now? I am addicted to the recaps. I absolutely must know what Kaysar was talking about at 3:54pm! And? I can't even blog about it because I can't remember what was on tv already and what wasn't..so I don't want to spoil anything. :)
Guppy Storms?? You guys owe me BIG TIME!!!
And with that, I leave you with....
LOOK at those lashes!! Beautiful!
(PS Hey, Gup and PS? You know I'm joking, right? I totally love you guys! Jen's a skanky ho-bag liar!) |

I survived the heat at the State Fair and all I got was this lousy blog post |
Hey, guys! I've had a ton of things running around in my head to post about but I have just been too tired. (that's why the eye candy in my last post.)
Ok, let's recap what's been going on here in my world.
The State Fair band contest was Wednesday. "Our" band was slated to perform at 1:22pm but we went early because some of the really good bands that we have rivalry with were performing early. The whole thing started at 10am so we got there in time to see the start of the show. OH. MY. GOD. It was HOT! As in temperature. In the upper 90's with at LEAST 95% humidity. I spent the day fanning myself, pulling my sweaty t-shirt away from my sweaty, stinky body and drinking water. Lukewarm water because it was so hot that the water didn't stay cold for more than 5 minutes. When we first arrived and found our seats..you wouldn't believe the suckage of said seats. Way off to the right and down at the bottom of the grandstand. Couldn't see a damn thing. I was about to cry because I knew I wouldn't get any good pictures or video. (yes, I am pathetic.) So we grumbled and complained a while, as did the other people in our section. Bubba finally decided to go to the box office and buy new seats up higher or whatever they had. He came back and they had just exchanged them! Yay! So we got to sit higher. It wasn't on the 50 yard line, but a little closer to middle. Much better view. This picture isn't that great because my digital camera is kind of sucky, but you get the idea of how crowded it was. That is our band lined up the farthest away. You can see part of the midway of the fair in the background, too.
click 'er to big 'er
Here is a rundown of some of the other fun times at State Fair Band Day....
~pouring rain causing an hour delay in the show. ~a couple in the row behind us who brought their 18-24 month old child and expected it to sit still and quiet at a band contest in the blazing heat!! idiots! ~later, a lady sitting behind us yelling at her 3-4 year old child to be quiet and sit down then proceeded to put the child on time out! This only made the poor hot, tired, bored child to scream louder. Idiot #2. ~me falling asleep sitting up DURING a band's performance because I hadn't had any sleep. ~Bubba making a new best friend of the Canadian lady(who was probably old enough to be his grandma, almost) sitting behind us. It was really scary the things they had in common...sprint car racing, baseball, etc etc.. ~being totally embarrassed by some of our own fans and vowing never to sit with them again! ~watching my fingers swell from the heat ~injuring my throat from screaming like a maniac for our band. ~almost running out of video tape before the final awards were announced. The other two tapes I took that I thought were blank...nope. ~almost BARFING before our morning performance, before morning awards, before our evening performance, and before night awards. I get THAT nervous. ~wanting to fling my camera at the people with the frickin' AIR HORNS! Jeez..eardrums, people! ~calling Guard Girl on her cell phone 50 times. ~calling Guard Girl while the band/guard was at Joe's Crab Shack during morning awards and giving her play by play results ~riding the trolley around the grounds watching people. ~listening to Bubba throwing up outside the van on the way home...I had to drive the rest of the way home
That is all I can think of for now. As if that isn't enough! :)
Our band got 2nd place out of 42 bands, by the way. And? Our Guard won the Guard Caption which means they were the best guard! Woo hoo! Have I mentioned I have a daughter in the guard? ;)
I have much more to talk about that is NOT band/guard related but, it'll have to wait. |

I-I-I-I-I-I want the knife... |
I was just flipping channels around and saw that The Golden Child is on, hence the title.
So last night was the band/guard "dress rehearsal" before the big dance--State Fair Band Day on Wednesday! They looked pretty good. They performed their show twice. They have made quite a few changes this past week at band camp. Changes for the better I think. State Fair should be fun again this year. And...you KNOW I will be having me some deep fried Oreo's again this year. So much for losing weight! :)
I spent the entire time at the show chasing my kids around. Well-behaved? Not my kids. Jameson chose to, while I wasn't looking, run all the way to the top of the bleachers. Now, kids, I do NOT like heights. I mean the thought of being up high and looking down makes my knees weak right now. But, I was by myself (AKA no Bubba) so I had to go get him. The stands were PACKED. (thing #2 I hate, being in front of a LARGE crowd knowing they are looking at me. I have issues, ok?) So, I make my merry little way up to the top by the announcers box and I damn near pass out right there because I accidentally looked down. So I grabbed him and stood there for the next 5 minutes catching my breath and pretending I was on solid ground. Then I threw him down to the bottom where my mom and dad were sitting held on to him and walked him down the 200 or so steps to the bottom. Ok, not 200, but it felt like it. I then, huffing and puffing, (I am soooo out of shape, people!)threatened my children's precious little baby butts with a good whippin' if they so much as looked at those stairs again. My mantra for the night? "I am not doing this again. I am not doing this again. I am not doing this again." Why didn't I send my mom or dad up the stairs to retrieve said child?? Well, they were in the handicapped section sitting in their lawn chairs because, A:my dad has the worst knees on the planet and will soon need knee replacement surgery and B:My mother has had 3 back surgeries and still has bad disks etc...so, I couldn't even plea for their help! Thank goodness it's over. Is it bad that I kept them occupied with Starburst? |

Howie is a flippin' idiot! |
BB6 talk to follow, so leave now if you don't want to be bored out of your mind.
Howie screwed up. He should have never put James and Sara up for eviction, in my humble opinion. He should have put up Maggie and Ivette!! Maggie for sure. Why oh why did he think he needed to be loyal to MAGGIE?? I like Howie, but as HOH, not so much. If cap...Eric..comes back into the house (but there is no way he could, remember, I have already voted 387,467,398,563,876 times) Rachel and Howie will be screwed! As much as Maggie claims to be so...truthful and trustworthy, she is still conniving and trying to win, just like the others. Kaysar needs to get back in that house and stir things up. Ok, as much as a lot of people don't like James, I do. He reminds me of Dr. Will a few seasons ago. Lie, lie, lie...it's the only way to make it far in the house. Oh, unless you are Jennifer and you just sit around and ride the coattails of everyone else without a thought in your head. But James, if he played just a little bit smarter, could win it all. I believe him when he says that he will be playing harder than ever for veto this week! He and Sarah both will. The problem is, whoever they pick to play veto with them could very well sabotage it so they don't win it. Grrrr..this show frustrates me so. But I love it! :) Oh, one last thought. Janelle playing in the food competition last night? Genius! While the rest of them gorged themselves on all those sweets...she pretty much took a couple of bites and smeared it all over her face to look like she was too. They all fell for it and now they have this newfound "respect" for her. You go girl! Janelle will probably win it all. |

This is one HAPPENIN' Friday... |
I should be out doing something. Anything. Dinner out. A movie. Something. But..I am sitting here reading blogs, posting on my blog, watching DVR'd Dr. Phils. Just got the kids to bed. Guard Girl is at a band sponsored party marking the end of Band Camp. (Yeah, yeah..go ahead, get it out of your system.."this one time, at band camp...")Bubba is umpiring...umping..whatever the word may be. So, that leaves little old me virtually alone. A girl could get into a lot of trouble if left alone too long!!
My Friday was pretty good as Fridays go. Not a bad day at work at all. I work in the client services department in a medical laboratory. We get all kinds of weird phone calls all the time. People call in trying to get their lab results often. A few years ago, this girl..woman...called in and wanted to know if her tests were done. She was being weird and I wasn't getting what she was trying to say. I couldn't find her in the computer and I was trying to get more info from her. I asked her, "Where did you have the blood drawn?" and she yelled at me..."It wasn't blood! They took it from my privatalia!!" In other words, it was a culture. It was all I could do to NOT bust out laughing righ there in here ear. Ok..end funny work anecdote.
What made me happy today? Having a very easy day at work with relatively few instances of a certain co-worker getting on my nerves. :)
Last night I was watching the kids play and Tater was picking her nose and she pulled out a booger. I know..EW! I told her to go get some toilet paper (we're out of kleenex) and wipe if off and throw it away. A minute later, Baby J comes over whining holding his hand up saying, "Mommy...boogie! Mommy...boogie!" Yep, she wiped it on her brother. Don't you feel the sibling love?? |

Praying at the altar of Cappy... |
Ok, show of hands...who else was disturbed at the "We Love Cappy" montage they showed on BB6 tonight???? Could Ivette and Maggie be any more up Cappy's ASS?? Jeez! I was highly...freaked out..at the way they speak of Eric. (I refuse to say Cappy ONE. MORE. TIME. Oh, I just did..nevermind) The way Maggie wears his clothes..they way they all piled their keys on his, as if he were dead and it is some memorial to him. AND...AND...they all say goodnight to him when they go to bed!! Oh. Good. Gravy. I don't like Janelle all that much, but she had better get soem revenge!! How happy was I that Howie won HOH?? I love Howie..he just cracks me up. He's just along for the ride..but of course now...he will have to play the game big time and nominate 2 people for eviction. I hope it is Maggie and I-can't stop screaming when I talk-vette...she grates on my nerves! Of course she is a cappy-groupie, too. (dang! I said it again.) My Kaysar got evicted!! WAH!! Hey, Present Storm, we totally need time to mourn together, don't you think? :) The good but potentially bad part of tonight's show was the twist. Seems one evicted houseguest gets to come back. It will either be Michael, Eric or Kaysar. But...america gets to vote. If CA--I mean Eric wins...I will personally hunt down every person who voted for him and they shall experience the wrath of FICKEN CHINGERS!! Please, go to CBS.com and vote for KAYSAR!!
Oh yeah..my happy things for yesterday and today...well, Wednesday and Thursday technically....I love to walk into the sitters house every day and see my kids light up and scream "Mommy!!" Today? Me and Bubba made up after not getting along so well for the last few days.
I was reading some comments somewhere out there in blog world and lots of people were saying how much they HATE memes. Why the hatin' on memes?? I mean, even if you are tagged and you don't like them..then don't do them. Memes are a change of pace..a little bit of fun stuck into the drivel that I post daily. If I ever tag you and you don't wanna?? Don't do it. Won't hurt my feelings a bit. I must say, though, it's been fun reading everyone else's turn ons/offs. I do know that memes help me with writers block too..and help others get to know me better. If they want to, I guess. I started my 100 things the other day..but apparantly it didn't save as draft because it isn't there. I only had about 5 things so far anyway so I'll just start over. :)
I had a ton of stuff to talk about tonight, but I am so tired so I should call it a night. Nighty night, all! |

Everyone else is talking about it, so I figured I should, too. There's a new blog traffic thingie out there. Click it and see...
It's not as fun as Blog Explosion yet, but it has potential. Go sign up.

Shhh!! Don't say a word about BB6... |
I haven't watched it yet. I DVR'd it and will watch it after Rock Star INXS so DON'T TELL ME WHAT HAPPENED!!
My happy thing for August 2nd--Birthday cake with whipped cream icing from Marsh grocery store. Yummy! We had a birthday party today for a co-worker who turned 30 yesterday and it was so good. She's also 8 months pregnant which made me think of another happy thing...I'm NOT 8 months pregnant! :)
UpdateIf Kaysar gets kicked out I will be ticked off!! Get rid of Janelle, please, but not my Kaysar! I still like James. He's playing them all. Someone needs to put some duct tape over Ivette's mouth!! She YELLS when she speaks!!! Maggie needs to go next...if not Ivette. More tomorrow...today..whatever. |

A meme and other highly important stuff |
I was tagged a while back by the most wonderful Kellie and I think I am ready to do it finally. Before I go on, if you haven't ever visited Kellie over at her blog Mom Is Nutz you really should. She cracks me up...she posts a lot and she has the all time funniest words for private parts that I have ever heard! :)
Anyway, this meme is really simple...just name 10 of your turn ons and 10 turn offs. Easy enough. Here are mine in no particular order.
10 Turn Ons
1. The smell of Curve cologne for men 2. Soft, wet kisses 3. Kisses on the back of my neck 4. my husband's hair before he started shaving it all off 5. my husband's smooth bald head 6. cheesecake 7. thunderstorms 8. my husbands calves--he has nice legs! 9. Dave Matthews singing and lyrics 10. the feeling of my hubby's goatee when it tickles my skin
10 Turn Offs
1. Rude people 2. My fat! 3. Dip--AKA chewing tobacco--AKA that nasty crap my husband puts in between his lip and gum that makes him spit nasty brown tobacco spit into empty soda bottles...NASTY! 4. hair in the bathtub drain--gag! 5. cruelty to animals, elderly and children 6. when my cable modem goes off for no reason and no explanation 7. messages on my voice mail that say "this is not a sales call. please call 555-5555...." nope, tell me who you are or I won't be calling. 8. Bad baby names. (ie:Couponita or Kmartina. hee hee inside joke for Guard Girl) 9. a re-run when I am expecting a new episode of *insert name of one of my many favorite tv shows* 10. the whistle in my hubby's nose that is perpetually there.
Wasn't that fun? :) Ok, so I'm gonna tag some people this time...and Tara KNOWS I will tag her for damn near everything. :) So, Tara, you're it! Hmm..who else? How about Cristie and how about xtessa...She might be game. Oh, and last but certainly not least, I'm tagging Present Storms. Now, if any of you taggees have done this one and I just missed it, well, just disregard the tag, mmkay? :)
On to other things...a few posts ago, the lovely Mimi declared the horrible monthly "visitor" to be Aunt Bitch, the consensus of my commentors (is that a word??) was yes! Let's call it Aunt Bitch...and so it shall be. Thanks Mimi..why didn't I think of that? So, ladies..no more "Aunt Flo"...it's Bitch..Aunt Bitch if you're nasty!
Ok, so I was reading me some snark over at Stacy's and she had a link to this post at Big Orange Michael. So, every day this month,(or every other..or when I post) I will post something that made me happy. Go ahead..you know you want to, too...come on! :) Join me..give in to the peer pressure! For today, here is my happy thing...I watched Tater get so excited about her play-doh. She hasn't had any for a long time because she kind of made a big mess of it before..but she got some in her Rally's kids meal and she was playing with it and when she figured out that she could cut it with the container and make circles her eyes lit up and she was just laughing and laughing. My kids are just too cute. :)
Big Brother on Saturday...Kaysar and James are up for nominations. I knew it. If you are a fan of BB6...go see the pics that Present Storms posted of Kaysar. Ooo la la! :)
In still other news to make this post even longer...Tater LOVED her birthday and her gifts. She screamed over every present she opened..and she kept saying "Oh, that's beautiful!" Baby J thought the Barbie car was his. Speaking of Baby J, at one point Tater said, when are we going to have cake? None of us were paying attention and a minute later, here came Baby J carrying the cake, in the box on it's side!! The whole room GASPED and bubba grabbed it before the box could open and let the cake fall out. We didn't doing anything besides let her open her presents and then have cake and ice cream, but on the way home she said, "That was fun." Simplicity is always best...screw that big mouse that sells pizza and tokens and makes you play skee-ball over and over until your rotator cuff is uncuffed. Next year? I think we'll just make a ghetto slide. (guppy and present storms will get that..as will a few others.)
There are NO band competitions this week, thank goodness!! Just a dress rehearsal show on Saturday.
Ok..since none of you have read this far because this is soooooo long...I should stop here..more tomorrow I am sure. |
