Top 10 sing the year they were born
Seriously, Paula? Those gloves.

Ramiele--"Alone by Heart" Everyone still remembers Carrie Underwood's version. Not a good song to choose. She's wearing a bad outfit. High waisted shorts. No, honey. Not on a short girl. She seemed to be screaming or yelling in parts. Some WAY off notes. Not impressed. 6 of 10

Jason--"Fragile" by Sting It's not a well known song so that could hurt him. How cool would it be if he said it as, "Fraj-EE-lay?" hee hee It's a pretty song and he did well but was a bit too soft in places. He's just so dang dreamy! AND? He's 21 now so I don't have to feel like a dirty old lady. And his interviews are the BEST! I love when he plays his guitar. 7 1/2 of 10

Syesha--"If I Was Your Woman" I think she shrieked some of the "big" notes. Not much else to say. She doesn't make a big impact on me. Her smile is gorgeous, though. 7 of 10

Chikezie--"If Only For One Night" He sang it rock solid, but it was just not a memorable performance. His voice sounded nice. I think he will stay another week over Ramiele or Kristy. (even though Kristy hasn't sung, yet.) 7 1/2 of 10

Brooke--"Every Breath You Take" I LOVE Brooke. LOVE her. This was a perfect song for her voice. Yes...she did mess up the first note and started over, but so what? She recovered and it sounded great. I will be downloading this one, for sure! 9 of 10

Michael--"We Are The Champions" AWESOME!!!! I can't say how much I loved this! Sounded great and he was entertaining! 9 1/2 of 10

Carly--"Total Eclipse of the Heart" At least she wasn't channeling Celine, tonight. It was good. I just don't love her. 7 1/2 of 10

Archie-- "You're The Voice" An AWFUL song choice that must have come from some cheesy 80s (or 1990) movie soundtrack. BUT, he sang it very well. I like his voice. 8 1/2 of 10

Kristy--"Proud to Be an American" Why oh WHY did she choose this song? I felt like I was at the county fair and I needed to STAND UP, next you.... and defend her still today. I mean, she did ok singing it, but come ON! She also looked like Marcia Brady tonight. 7 of 10

David C--"Billie Jean" I called it earlier today. I researched a bit and KNEW he would do the Chris Cornell version of this song, and he did. And it worked. I don't like him, his attitude, rather, but I think he did well with this. 8 1/2 of 10

I am just happy they didn't do Beatles night again!

My top 3: Michael, Brooke and David Cook
My bottom 3: Ramiele, Kristy and Syesha

I think Ramiele will go this week, but I could be way off. No matter, as long as my boys and Brooke are safe!

What ever happened to Easter bonnets?
EB loot. Easter bunny says, "Wal-mart movie deals ROCK!

That is a 54 dollar dress. I do not spend $54 on ANYTHING. Thank goodness for Kohl's and their sales! We got the dress plus a shirt, pants and shoes for Jameson for less than the dress cost at full price! Everything was on sale, plus the people behind us in line gave us a coupon because they weren't going to use it. Awesome! I hate to shop, but when we get good deals, it's not so bad.

Not my favorite photo of Braelyn, but like I said over at flickr, my son is trying to kill me with the whole looking grown up thing. He was very insistant about having his hands in his pockets, legs crossed. Killing me, I say!

Hope you all had a great Easter!

Eggstraordinary

I almost forgot about coloring eggs this year! I was at work today thinking about what I would get the kids for Easter from the Easter Bunny and it hit me! So, after work I got an egg coloring kit. Two actually because at my second stop, I realized it would be much better to get the kind with cups. We managed to color eggs without getting the dye all over anyone's clothes but we all ended up with colored fingers.

Braelyn made one that says, "I love Brianna." Brianna is out of town for a week in New Orleans, LA.

Record time!
So Easter really sneaked up on me this year. (sneaked? is that right?) I hate it when Easter falls so early! I got paid today (not enough of course)so I bribed Bubba with sexual favors asked Bubba to go with me to find the kids' Easter clothes.

During March Madness.

He went!

We were gone less than an hour and a half and we got Braelyn a new dress and Jameson a shirt, pants and shoes. (he needed all three.)

He made it home in time to see IU.

Top 11 sing The Beatles (again)
I wasn't thrilled with a second night of Beatles, last night. TPTB at AI kinda want to drive me batty. Anway, here's my assessment of AI sings the Beatles part two. Overall, I found it to be a boring night. Keep in mind, I was TRES crabby last night and not in the mood to be nice. Much.

Amanda--Back In the USSR. Same old, same old. I don't like Amanda. She is gravelly and nasal (and no, nasal is not a style) and the blonde in her hair washes her out. Makes her look older than she is. Also, the backup singers were drowning her out, which isn't her fault, of course, but it drives me crazy. I'm with Simon when he said she is becoming boring. It's the same thing every week. She TRIED to be clever after judge comments, but Simon pretty much put her in her place. LOVE Simon. 4 of 10

Kristy--You've Got To Hide Your Love Away. I'm not a Kristy fan. There was just too much country twang or something. She was flat, flat, flat in places. I didn't care for it at all. Nor did I care for that weird dress with cowboy boots. 4 of 10

Archie--The Long and Winding Road. David A redeemed himself after forgetting his words last week. He did a great job with this song. I wish he had picked a different song as I think this one is a little whiny or something. But, I still love the kid, no matter the hype. Plus? Can he get any cuter? I would totally have a crush if I were 16. 8 1/2 of 10

Michael--A Day In The Life. Oh, Michael. I love you so much, but tonight was kinda not great. The first few lines were very good. And then he tried to hit that high note. Yikes. But then it got better. And then there was another bad note. And then it ended ok. Also? A shirt and tie! NOT a tattered t-shirt! I don't want him to go, but this performance may put him in the bottom 3. *sigh* 5 MAYBE 5 1/2 of 10

Brooke--Here Comes The Sun. Great song choice for her. Despite what the judges thought, I thought she did great and looked great. I loved it! 8 1/2 of 10

David C--Daytripper Eh. I didn't understand a word of it except for "daytripper" a couple of times. And, hello? What was up with the Frampton voice box thingy? This guy's attitude drives me batty. 6 1/2 of 10

Carly--Blackbird. She gives me some weird Celine vibe. Ugh. What the H was that top she had on? Anyway, I love Blackbird, but I don't love Carly. I'll say it again, I know Carly can sing, but I don't care for her voice. 7 1/2 of 10

Jason--Michelle. How can you NOT love this guy from his interviews? How can you not swoon over his eyes? His smile? He is just endearing even with though Michelle was not a wonderful song choice. I kinda loved him when he sang the French part. And all those goofy looks on his face were just awesome! Love ya, Jason! Call me! 7 of 10

Syesha--Yesterday. It was a little too high but very pretty. 7 of 10

Chikeze--I've Just Seen a Face. He had me up until that harmonica and then it felt like a mess. (NOBODY plays harmonica like my Taylor Hicks!) I kinda like Chikeze and I hope he stays over Kristy and Ramiele. 6 of 10

Ramiele--I Should Have Known Better. I don't remember much about it. I'm not a fan of her singing OR her wardrobe. 5 of 10

What a mediocre to blechy night.

My bottom 3: Kristy, Ramiele, and Amanda.
My top 3: Archie, Brooke and Carly (even though I don't like her much.)

Could be ANYONE going home. Can't wait to see.

St. Patrick's Day
Today is St Patrick's Day.

I did wear green, but not on purpose. I was off work and my usual pajama top is a big old green sweatshirt.

That whole creative thing is still not happening.

A place, where nobody dares to go...
I've been feeling very creative lately, though I know it doesn't show around here. I feel like if I could just get started on SOMETHING, anything, then I could end up with something good. I just don't know what that something is. I like to write. Fiction, I mean. Maybe I should find a creative writing class to take. Perhaps I should get my scrapbooking stuff out and complete some pages. Maybe I should take my camera out to someplace different and look for some good shots.

I just don't know. There's a muse out there for me. I just have to catch her. But I think she's on skates. (In Xanadu-u-u...Xanadu your neon lights will shine, for you, Xanadu..) I can't skate.

You're so vain, you probably think this blog is about ya..
My son has become vain. He'll be 5 on Tuesday. He brushes his hair after his bath every night and his hair has to be just right. It has to be combed to his right just so. He stands in front of the mirror and fixes it and re-fixes it. Every morning, same thing. Before he leaves, he verifies with me that it still looks OK.

He IS Bubba's son. Well, except for the hair thing, ya know.

I feel so one dimensional
I am boring. I don't DO anything. I have nothing meaningful to talk about. At this rate, I'll be bedridden and holding a baby doll at 40.

I think it's winter blues. Spring! I want Spring!

Idol Brother
David Hernandez went home tonight on American Idol. Eh. I'm not torn up about it.

The HOH comp is STILL going on at 5 minutes to midnight.

I love reality TV. :)

Top 12 sing the Beatles
Ryan introduces the new set. It's bigger and light-y-er. The band is way up high now instead of just behind the singers. Maybe they won't drown out the performers, now.

Syesha--Got To Get You Into My Life
Her low register was too quiet, but the chorus sounded really good. I wasn't in love with her hair tonight, but she is so pretty, it didn't much matter. 6 1/2 of 10

Chikezie--She's A Woman
He started out sitting on the stage with band around him playing a banjo, tambourine, fiddle...then he kicked it up and danced around stage. A fun performance with a few shaky notes, but he may have just saved himself! Plus? He wears a sweater vest MUCH better than Blake Lewis. 7 1/2 of 10

Ramiele--"In My Life"
Boring. She added a "glory note" at the end that didn't fit. A total snooze-fest. Like Simon said, forgettable. Way too safe for Top 12. At least they didn't say, "Big voice, little body." 5 of 10 Mostly because I was bored.

Jason-- "If I Fell"
Not as boring as Ramiele, thank goodness. Still, a little TOO soft and he struggled a bit with a couple of notes, but I love the Castro! It's the guitar! It's the eyes! It's the voice! 7 of 10 (I almost gave him a 9 because I love him so much!)

Carly--"Come Together"
My conclusion is that Carly can sing, but I don't care for her voice. This song didn't impress me all that much and I feel deaf because everyone was into it. I'll score her well, though. 8 of 10 Would be higher probably if I liked her voice more.

David Cook--"Eleanore Rigby"
Blech. Didn't dig it. 5 of 10 mostly because he gets on my nerves. I hate his hair, his soul patch, the dracula collar on his jacket, and I didn't like his take on this song. Amen.

Brooke--"Let It Be"
A great song for her voice and I love that she plays the piano. I just really, really loved this. I tend to agree with Paula (!!) in that Brooke brings emotion to her songs. She's my favorite female on the show, by far. 8 1/2 of 10

David H--"I Saw Her Standing There"
What happened? Worst performance of his yet. 5 of 10

Amanda--"You Can't Do That"
I just don't like her. Period. 5 of 10

Michael--Across the Universe
Yay, Aussie! Much better. Loved the song. Love him. Don't care if he's not as good as his hype was. Yum. 8 of 10

Kristy--"8 Days A Week"
Ew. Bad country version. Too fast. Too vibrato-ish-like. WAY too Hee Haw. SAL-ute! 4 of 10

David A--"We Can Work It Out"
I liked the peppy Archie, but he was a little rough. He had some trouble with a couple of notes and he forgot a word or two, but I just love the kid. I don't care how much he is hyped, he is good. There is no doubt. Plus, is it HIS fault that they pimp him so much?? Nope. 7 1/2 of 10

My Top 3: Brooke, Michael, and Carly (I guess) Special mention to Chikezie who REALLY entertained me tonight.

My Bottom 3: KRISTY!, Amanda and Ramiele

The votes could go ANY way, but I'd vote Kristy off if I could. If not her, then Amanda.

PS I love you, Simon. Paula deserved the "shut up!"
