Mad blogger
Ok, so BLOG MAD has gone public beta now. However, it's by invite only for the time being. If you want an invitation just comment or email me and let me know. By the way, if you don't know what Blog Mad is, it's a new blog traffic exchange. You can surf blogs, earn credits to get more traffic to your blog, play games, interact on the forums..there is all kinds of stuff to do over there, you should check it out.
I would say more wonderful things about it..but I am way too tired..

Don't click the banner...click the link up there..or the button on the sidebar. I am too tired to put the link with the banner right now.

10 on Tuesday
Today's "10 on Tuesday" is..

10 Things You Want, But Don't Need
1) A brand new car. (used would be fine, thanks.)
2) A laptop. (I could blog from the bathroom, people! Who doesn't want to do THAT??)
3) A big expensive digital camera with all the bells and whistles.
4) Nails and a pedicure. (ok, depends on who you ask. You do NOT want to see my feet. Trust me on this.)
5) Flickr Pro account. (which I did NOT get for Christmas.)
6) Lost, Desperate Housewives, Grey's Anatomy etc., on DVD.
7) Loads of money. (I know..I sound greedy. But, isn't this sort of hypothetical, anyway?)
8) A new blog template.
9) To meet several of my bloggy friends. (I debated this one with myself since, well, sometimes I think I DO need to meet them!)
10)A night or weekend by myself, preferrably not at home, to just do whatever and not have to look around me and see the things that need to be done.

11)Ok, I know this is 10 on Tuesday, but I have to add one more... I want all my scrap stuff to be organized so I can actually do some scrapping.

Is all that too much to ask??

stuff on sunday

I'm posting now because my children are watching that blasphemous sacrilegious re-make Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory and I don't want to see any of it. Though I've seen bits and pieces of it already, I try to avoid any more. What is up with Wonka's GREY skin?

Anyway, some things on my mind...

  • those stupid "Impeach Bush" corner banners on blogs all over...HATE 'EM
  • will my laundry EVER be caught up?
  • my van really needs gas and I'm not real sure how I will put any in it seeing as though I am broke. Very broke. Literally no money.
  • I was talking to someone in the bloggy world who said they wanted to do something outside of the norm today. I want to do something outside of the norm. If I could just find a babysitter for the children.
  • Are the Olympics over, yet?
  • Grey's Anatomy is on tonight! My va-jay-jay and I will be watching.
  • I am looking forward to American Idol this week. I am not too embarrassed to admit that...well, not too much.
  • I had only a short time to try out Blog Mad during their Bug Day yesterday, but I really like it. If you haven't already signed up, you had better do so since they will be by invitation only after March 1st. What are you waiting for?? CLICK HERE and sign up!!
  • Don't forget to click my renter, please. He needs clicks so he won't feel like he's wasted credits on me.
  • Speaking of laundry, my poor son has no clean "big boy underwear." I'd better get on that. My panty martyrdom is at stake.
  • I don't know why I am still using bullets.
  • Time to end this most boring of nothing posts. (don't forget to put yourself on my frappr map.)

Edited to add a couple more bullets...
  • I've been seeing those Johari window thingies all over, and while I'm usually a big ol' follower..not gonna do it.
  • Why are so many people such blog snobs?? Who CARES if someone has a "crappy" blog?? MOVE ON and stop whining about it!!

You're 'fifteen'....you're beautiful...and you're mine ours
Ok, so I took some liberties with the lyrics to that song for my title. Sue me. :)

ANYway...today is Guard Girl's birthday! She is fifteen years old. ONE FIVE. FIFTEEN! How did THAT happen?? In my usual way, I thought I would share some photos with you so maybe, just maybe, you can see why I feel so OLD today. Enjoy! Clicky to biggie.

Here she is on her first Easter with my Grandma who is now gone.

This is at the Indianapolis Zoo. Look at my bangs. Yikes. But, we have matching red cheeks.

This is on Thanksgiving '91. Again, I have very bad hair...but this isn't about me, right? It's about how dang CUTE she was as a baby!

I love this picture. We went to the beach in NC and she was TERRIFIED of the water and the waves crashing into the beach. She didn't want ANYONE to get into the water. So, of course I stood in the water to get this shot of her crying and screaming, "NO! COME BACK! COME BACK!"

Later the same day? LOVED IT!

One of the last times I ever wore a bathing suit. UGH...but look at her super cheesy chipmunk smile!

She's 8 here with her brand new bike for Christmas.

And finally, here she is now, with the boyfriend at the Sweetheart's Ball.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, BRIANNA KAITLYN!!! WE LOVE YOU!!

Be My Guest
I asked my current renter to write a guest post for my blog and he was more than happy to oblige. He's cool like that. Plus, he can't resist my charms. So, without further ado, I give you... Mr. E's guest post...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Gotta go, gotta go, gotta go right now
Hey there, everyone! Many of Angie's regular readers may not know me, but I'm E, also known as
Eccentric Man
. I'm also Angie's blog tenant this week. I'm honored to not only be Angie's tenant, but also today's guest blogger. If you want to find out more about me, visit '209 Things About Mr. Eccentric.'
I had an opportunity to travel the back roads of Hancock County, Indiana Thursday on some personal business. There is one particular road in which I've travel often in the past. It's quite scenic and remote, but during the afternoon and evening hours, there's still enough traffic on this road to know beyond a shadow of a doubt that you will NOT be alone for long.
As I was headed down this particular stretch of road, I approached a man and a woman standing in the middle of the road. The doors to their red pickup truck were open and they were just standing there, right where the flow of traffic would have to either hit them or slow down.. When the twosome saw me coming, they scrambled for the truck, closed the doors, and started creeping along.
After I passed the truck and its passengers, I looked in my rearview mirror. The man drove the truck forward a few feet, then stopped. The woman got out of the truck, walked over to the side of the road into the weeds, and proceeded to squat down.
Yes, a woman was publicly urinating on the side of a county road in broad daylight! Did she run out of her Detrol LA? I don't know, but she seemed to have no regard for who may be driving by.
Couldn't this woman wait until she got home? In this particular area of Hancock County, she was most likely close to home or her destination was close by. Also, while remote, she was just minutes away from cities and towns where restroom facilities were available.
Or, another perspective is that she COULD have had a serious medical condition which would have prevented her from traveling even more than another mile or two before she had to take care of her "emergency."
Basically, seeing this event unfold before my eyes reminded me of a book I read once...I think it was called "Walk a Mile in my Shoes." My immediate reaction was to assume that this was some hillbilly redneck woman who was too uncultured to wait until she got home to go to the bathroom. However, when I put myself in her place, wondering if possibly something more serious was going on, my perspective changed.
When we encounter individuals with whom we may not understand, people who are rude, mean, or indifferent to us, we need to take a deep breath, step back, and walk a mile in their shoes. It was my lesson for the day. If we could all live that lesson, the world would be a much better place.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Thanks, E! You're the cat's pajamas!! :)

Get the heck OFF the show!! (Or live blogging the AI fun)(or I'm a complete nerd)
Here we go...(Tater Tot is way into Taylor Hicks. Is she my child or what?)

Idle chit chat and banter with the judges. How important is the likeability factor..blah blah blah.

Make fun of Simon..blah blah blah..

Once again, Simon tells it like it is.

Oh no..a group song. I HATE the group songs. They always sound very amusement park-ish. They are singing "Take It Easy." It's not horrible.
commercial
And...we're back...

Re-cap of both nights of singing.

Brenna feels like a duck. Uh huh.

Back row of girls standing..looking for the least number of votes. Mandisa, Kelly, Paris, Lisa and Katharine are safe.
Bottom row...wow..it's NOT Heather, Stevie or Melissa.
Kinnik, Becky and Brenna are the bottom 3. commercial

And, the "Get the heck off the show" loser is...Becky O'Donahue! Wow, I didn't see that coming AT ALL! I thought her looks would carry her for a while. Hmmm...and America let all the suckage stay. Interesting. Becky sings again.

Am I just clueless?? Why did I think they were sending TWO girls and TWO guys home. Jeez..I'm a nerd. commercial

Time for the boys...witty banter..questions to the boys from Ryan...
Bottom 2...Bobby and Sway.
The official "Get the heck off the show" loser is...Bobby!! Thank goodness!
Bobby sings. HOW did he make it to the top 24??

At least they didn't drag it out to 8:59! I DVR'd Survivor for this!! :)

Ohhh...ok..I am not crazy. They ARE kicking off another girl and another guy tonight.
commercial

Next GTHOTS Loser is...Stevie. No surprise. Stevie sings. Badly. Such a bad song choice for her. It killed her. But she wouldn't have won, anyway.
commercial

The last GTHOTS Loser is...Patrick. I think he had potential. He wouldn't have won, though.

Well, I got 2 of the 4 right. There's always next week. Toodles.

american idol--the boys
Gotta get this done before it comes on tonight!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Patrick Hall-- My first thought...Who? I don't remember him from auditions or Hollywood. He reminds me of Anthony from last year. Not looks-wise. Singing-wise. I think if he picks the right song, he could hang on for a while. But, did you guys see his mom's LIPS??? Oh wow...let's just say, plastic surgery gone bad.
After Patrick, I just wanted to say..."Paula, shut-up."
David Radford--He's the "crooner." Stick to crooning, kid. He sang "Crazy Little Thing Called Love." This performance was like a bad Elvis impersonation. It was bad. He needs to go now.
Paula, shut-up.
Bucky Covington--Wannabe southern rocker. Bad. Bucky you sucky.
Will Makar--Sang a Jackson 5 song. He's cute in a 16 year old kind of way and he is definitely a good performer. His voice isn't really great, though. Oh, and did I mention that he looks JUST LIKE Fred Savage?? Seriously. Go HERE and see what I mean. I think he'll stick around for a couple more weeks.
Here was Ryan Seacrest's line of the night..."Where there's a Will....there's a Sway." With that, he introduced the next performer, Sway Penala. (I will say that Ryan is dressing better this year.)
Sway Penala--Falsetto. Stinketto. Bad Prince impersonation. Please stop.
Chris Daughtry--Ahhhh...FINALLY...someone good!! He's a so-called "rocker" and he was AWESOME! He sang Wanted Dead or Alive. He is what Constantine WANTED to be last year!! Even Simon was into him..told him he has a great recording voice. He's in my top three.
Kevin Covais--Awww..poor, poor little Kevin. Sweetie, American Idol is not the place for you. You can sing, but, just..no. Now come here and let me give you a hug.
Paula, shut-up.
Gedeon McKinney--Ok, first? Who spells GIdeon with an E?? He definitely loves to perform and puts on a good show. He seems much older than 17. He's a pretty good singer, but there is just something about him that I don't like. Simon said, "...your smile bothers me." The kid DOES look kind of like the Joker from Batman.
Paula, shut-up.
Elliott Yamin--I really liked him. It was a surprise for me because I don't remember really liking him much during the Hollywood rounds. He has a really smooth quality to his voice. I was even more surprised when Simon said, "Potentially the best male vocalist we've ever had." Whoa, not sure I would go that far.
Bobby Bennett--Go home, Copa Cabana boy. You are a stooge. It was as if he KNEW almost everyone else would outsing him so he gave up and acted a fool. It was bad Vegas karaoke!!
Ace YoungThe pretty boy. I want to hate him, but I don't. YET. However...does anyone remember my seething hatred for Constantine last year?? This guy has that potential. Did you SEE that grimace face he makes?? But, he sang a great 80's song by George Michael who was WAAAY hot before teenage girls everywhere even realized he was gay. Ok, beside the point...anyway...as Simon said. He has "the X factor." He'll go through to the end.
Taylor Hicks--OH YEAH!! Taylor rocks my socks. I love his voice..so smooth. So into the music and the whole experience. LOVE HIM!! He's in my top 3. Simon, who said at the beginning that Taylor shouldn't make it to the finals said, "I was wrong." Wow!
So there you have it. Should I even predict who leaves tonight?? I'll try. See how wrong I am.
For the girls--Stevie and Heather.
Boys--Bobby and Kevin.
See y'all after the show!
eccentricities part deux
I'm into my second round of being landlord to an eccentric man of some sort. A while back, I rented to this guy.
Now, I'm renting to HIM. Known affectionately as "E" to his friends, Mr Eccentric is a great guy. He appreciates women of every size and shape, though his preference is BBWs. He is smart, has a great sense of humor and has amazing focus on what he wants in his life. He posts some crazy stuff mixed in with serious. Currently, he is looking for Ms. Right, so ladies, if you are single and live in the midwest, take a look! I think you all should stop over and give him a look around. Tell him I sent ya and maybe you will win a free CD or something. Ok. I totally made that part up, but still, you should visit him. Look for a guest post from E later this week! Now, go CLICK!!
Coming soon...AI post about the boys.
Yay=Mandisa, Ayla, Paris, Lisa and Katharine. My #1 Yay? Katharine.(close 2nd is Lisa)
BOO=Kelly, Becky, Stevie, Brenna, Heather, Melissa and Kinnik. My #1 Boo? Heather.(close 2nd is Stevie)
I want Brenna to go the mostest! Girl gots to GO! I can't stand her attitude.
Simon was dead-on with all his comments. Randy..same old "dawg" and "dude" stuff. Paula..shut up.
Overall, a boring 2 hour long show that could have been squeezed into 1 hour.
Tomorrow..bring on the boys!
I heart George
Tara---Grey's Anatomy talk..do not read if you have not watched!
Ok, Grey's Anatomy fans....who else LOVES George even more this week?? Come on, how could you NOT?? His plight to make Ally McBeal Meredith see him as more than just timid-roommate-George is just pitiful. But OH MY HECK...when he came to her room at the end..and said "I know I'm not a world renowned surgeon and I know I'm not a lot of things you've gone for in the past, I know. But...I would never leave you. I would never hurt you. I will never stop loving you." Did your heart not melt? Did you not swoon for the good guy? AND??? When she lifted his shirt over his head and the show ended with their faces thisclose....wow... The previews for next week, of course, gives a little away. But still..you GO George!
In other GA storylines...I was sad when the "Mask" boy died. Mrs Dr McDreamy's very HOT jerk of a plastic surgeon (ex?) boyfriend deserved to be punched by McDreamy..and he is cocky. I figured they would have he and Meredith hook-up...I'm glad they didn't. The girl with the "Spontaneous Episodes" was funny..but, wow, would that be terrible to live with??
Ok, that's all for now. More later as the mood hits me.
Smile if you're lying
My new renter is once again someone new to me. "Debbie Cakes" is someone I haven't seen around but I'm excited to have her as my new renter for the week. She welcomes all comments..even mean and hateful ones since those can be so much fun to read. I have to agree with her a little on that point. It does add a little spice to life. However, I've had enough spice in the last month and a half to last me quite a while! Ok, but the kicker...the thing that made me choose her as my renter... her list of favorite movies on her blogger profile.
Office Space
Never Been Kissed
Castaway
Sleepless in Seattle
Breakfast Club
Sixteen Candles
High Fidelity
Say Anything
Pee Wee's Big Adventure
Just to name a few...She's my kind of girl.
what are the odds?
Guard Girl and the boyfriend, Drummer Boy, bought each other the same thing for Valentine's Day. :) Too funny.
The little ones got a TON of chocolate at the babysitter's house.
I got a nice card from Bubba.
However, there was no Valentine action.
Sorry, TMI.
I'm fat and I am going to go eat the Cadbury Egg that is in my purse.
Ain't life grand??
American Idol post later...
Put yourself on my Frappr map over there in my sidebar.
I don't have a renter yet, so you don't have to visit anyone right now.
O'Malley, Stop looking at my va-jay jay!
***SPOILERS TARA***
I LOVE Grey's Anatomy!! The continuation of last weeks "very special episode" was so good! Dr Bailey was still refusing to have her baby and refusing to push even though it was time. Dr Shepard was still operating on Bailey's husband. Meredith still had her hand inside the guy's chest. Dr What's his name..head of surgery, had a panic attack. Hot-babe, Kyle Chandler, as the bomb squad guy took entirely too long...uh...doing whatever it was he was doing to prepare for the surgery and ultimate removal and hopefully non-exploding of the "bomb" in the guy's chest. McDreamy finds out it's Meredith with her hand in the chest and is openly concerned...but it's shortlived as Bailey's husband flatlines and McDreamy has to finally "punch" him in the chest to get him going again. Dr Bailey is very near to having an emergency c-section but George comes to the rescue. He talks her down...calms her down...and she starts to push...with George climbing in bed behind her and letting her lean on him and helping her push. I loved George a little more at that moment. He's my tv boyfriend these days. Anyway...the title of this post? BEST LINE OF THE SHOW! George looks in the strategically positioned mirror and proclaims that he can see the baby's head and it has lots of hair. That is what Bailey came back with..."O'Malley, stop looking at my va jay-jay!" It's my new catch phrase. Don't steal it. FINALLY, it's surgery time. Or is it? They have to move to another OR because the main oxygen line runs directly under the one they are in. Soooo...they all push the gurney down the hall ssllllooooowwwwwllllyyy...and it's show time. Meredith needs to pull the bazooka round out as LEVEL as possible. Level. Meredith, LEVEL. He told her at least 15 times. Meredith begins to freak, Kyle Chandler-bomb squad boy calms her down, she envisions McDreamy who tells her "You can do it." And she does. A collective sigh is heard round the hospital. She passes if off to Kyle C-bomb squad boy, and he walks it out of the room and down the hall. As Meredith walks to the door and into the hall to watch....
BOOM!!!!
Bomb squad boy is reduced to red splatter. All over Meredith and the hallway. Meredith is thrown back ward and is knocked unconscious. So much for a potential love interest for Meredith. *sigh* McDreamy saves Bailey's husband and he gets to meet his newborn son. Burke saves guy with bazooka thing in his chest. Christina and Izzy help Meredith to the showers and get her cleaned up. Meredith lays in bed at home with a big cut on her forehead and Izzy comes in to tell her she has a visitor. It's McDreamy. He says, "You almost died today." Then she says she can't remember the last time they kissed even though she tries to remember. McDreamy relays it to her in detail. *swoon* He says, "I'm glad you didn't die tonight." Leaves. The End. (he totally still loves her!!)
The absolute best episode EVER! I laughed and cried...perfect!
GA fans...thoughts please...
Love songs
Even if you don't want to read this whole post, scroll to the end. There's a question for you to answer. :) I'm all demanding like that.
While I was on YIM today, I decided to play the Yahoo! Launch. I chose the station "80's Love songs." Yeah, I know, go figure. After it played Peter Gabriel's "In Your Eyes," I heard the familiar beginning notes of me and Bubba's (mine and Bubba's? Bubba's and my? My and Bubba's? GRAMMAR POLICE, I need you!) song. I was shocked and awed that they even have the song in their repertoire as it is quite obscure. I'm PRETTY sure the only people who ever heard the song were those who attended dances in 1988 at Muncie Central High School in Indiana. Should I reveal the story or the song first?
The song? Ok. The song is "I Want To Be Your Man" by Roger. *pause for you all to say "Who?"* Yeah, I know. Others have well known romantic songs and we get Roger. Who the heck is freakin' Roger? I know you are dying for the lyrics, so I MUST oblige.
Hey lady let me tell you why,
I cant live my life without you,oh baby
everytime I see you walking by i get a thrill
you dont notice me but in time you will,I must make you
understand.....
chorus:I wanna be your man (I wanna be your man)
I wanna be your man (I do yeah,yeah)
I wanna be your man (I wanna be your man)
I wanna be your man (I wanna be your man)
Better not pass me by,cause if you do you'll lose a good
thing, (oh baby) Cause what I got to say is sealed with a kiss
and a wedding ring
(wedding ring)
My mind is blind at times
I can't see any one but you
Those other girls don't matter no they can't spoil my view
I must make you understand.....
[chorus: (2x)]
Words can never say what I feel, (it's too intense)
oh oh oh oh. I tried I tried I tried I tried to tell you
how I feel,but I get mixed up (soo mixed up)
my mind is blind at times I cant see anyone but you,those other
girls dont matter no they cant spoil my view,I must make you
understand.....
[chorus: repeat till song goes off]
Ok, if you have made it this far, please stay a while longer so I can convey the "how-our-song-came-about story."
The year...1988.
The place...A high school dance somewhere in Indiana
The set-up...Angie's "boyfriend" shows up at basketball game with another girl thus officially breaking up with her and giving Bubba the "in" he needed.
Fast forward to the dance. Angie is now crying, as high school girls do tend to over dramatize things. Her friend, Chad, asks her to dance just to cheer her up. Enter Bubba who cuts in and takes over. Cue song by Roger. Bubba kisses Angie and he is stuck with her for life.
Anyone need a tissue? No, not for tears, to wipe away the remnants from your gagging from the sweet romance. ;)
So, now, this is where you come in. Valentine's Day is in a couple of days. I don't care if you love it or hate it, just answer this question in my comments, please. :)
Tell me, please, what is your song? You and your husband, wife, girlfriend, boyfriend who ever...tell me what your song is.
LOVE SUIT UP! (COMMENT UP!) never mind...if you watch "How I Met Your Mother" you sort of get that...
I'm babbling..
Later..
Sweethearts, tenants and missing persons
We didn't get very many really good photos of Brianna at the Sweetheart's Dance, but here's one of her posing for the camera.
And another...
Daddy and Daughter (and, NO, Bubba is NOT stoned...I swear)
Ok, guys, I have been remiss in touting my renter. She's been here for a few days and I have failed to sing her praises as a blogger. Her name is Shelly and her blog is The Dramedy of Life. First, I love her template. It is purple, which I love. Not gawdy purple, either, which I love even more. I have to say I don't yet know a lot about her as she is a new blog find for me. So far, what I have read, I like. Go check her out (you know the drill, click the thumbnail in the side bar). You just might find yourself a new read.
I have someone on my sidebar that is missing. The link no longer works, but I hold out hope. He was one of my favorite daily reads, making me laugh out loud most days. Did anyone else ever read dot.bench aka My Park Bench? Anyone else know what happened to Peter J Backman and his puppy, Gadget?? I am sad because his blog is no more. Perhaps he picked up and moved his blog in the night and is hiding from me (as I used to stalk him). Anyway, if you happen across this post and know what the heck happened, fill a girl in, would ya?
I hope to get to my entire blog roll for a visit this weekend as I have been slacking big time.
I am up too late. I fell asleep on the couch at around 9pm, woke up at 11pm and now I can't sleep. Usually? No big deal. HOWEVER, I have to work at 7am. This is a suck.
He's hot..but weird...
So, I watched Oprah last night when I got home. I had it on the DVR and it just so happened to be the one with Matthew McConaughey. The interview was pertty good. His hair was perfectly run-fingers-throughable. He has a cute dog. But...dang that boy is WEIRD! I'm not talking the Tom-Cruise-on-Oprah kind of weird, but the I-am-so-deep kind of weird. Just the kind Oprah appreciates. Did anyone else see it?
Puppy Bowl
I totally forgot to tell you all about the highlight of our Superbowl Sunday!!! As Bubba was watching the highly boring pre-game show (which went on for hours and hours) he decided to channel surf a bit. Much to our "delight" he happened upon a television WONDER...it was on Animal Planet and was called "Puppy Bowl." I kid you not, they had a miniature football stadium set up and about 10 or so puppies romping about inside. It was 3 HOURS LONG people!! Then? They ran it again! That is 6 hours of Puppy Bowl. Oh, oh..AND...you can go to the website and vote for "Most Valuable Puppy" in Puppy Bowl II. Did you catch that? I said Puppy Bowl II!! There was a Puppy Bowl ONE! Since there was also now a TWO, that means there was interest and possibly even DEMAND for...Puppy Bowl II!!
The best part about the whole "show" was when the "official" came out, blew the whistle and called a penalty on the field for a first down. Yep, you guessed it...one of the dogs pooped on the field.
(click my renter, thank you and happy hump day)
just stuff
So, I hear the Super Bowl was on Sunday..whatever. It wasn't the Colts, so I didn't care. I watched the commercials though. Which ones did you like?? I liked the streaking sheep. That was pretty funny. Magic fridge. Funny. The Sprint "crime deterrent" phone. Funny. How cute was the baby Clydesdale pulling the cart?? Did anyone else think the Pepsi "Brown and Bubbly" campaign sounds like an ad for diarrhea?? Eww..and Diddy? He is soooo five years ago. Pepsi, find a new spokesman!
Saturday was another guard competition day. Winter Guard is our lives most saturdays from late January to mid March. At least it is something I enjoy. Here's a couple of photos of the show yesterday. (I know they're blurry. I have a sucky digital, ok?)
Click HERE and HERE and HERE to see some close-ups of Guard Girl in action.
WARM FUZZY ALERT!!!
On Saturday, we decided to take Tater Tot with us to the guard competition. We've never taken her because they are long and drawn out shows and we knew she would never sit still. So, we decided to try and see how she would do. (she did great!) We left Baby J with my parents for the day. Tater and Baby J have never really been apart since we brought him home from the hospital almost 3 years ago. Baby J wasn't to sure about what was going on...why sissy wasn't going to Mamaw's with him. Anyway, he did fine. But when we picked him up, neither one of them could stop talking! From the time he got into the van until we got to the school to pick up Big Sis, they didn't shut up. At one point, it got quiet in the van and Baby J said, "I mees(miss) you, Bay-een." (her name is Braelyn and he can't quite pronounce it) I very nearly cried right then and there. I thought my heart may explode right out of my chest. It was such a sweet moment. Even though they fight like cats and dogs most days, it's nice to know they are close right now. I hope they stay close always.
TARA...I am now going to talk about Grey's Anatomy!!! DO NOT READ if you have not watched!!!
After the Superbowl was "a very special episode" of Grey's Anatomy. It was great. I love that show more every week! (because, yes, I watch way too much tv. shut it.) The whole premise was a guy gets shot and is bleeding out. The paramedic has to hold her hand inside his chest cavity to keep him from bleeding out. They find out later that what he was shot with left a live round of whatever inside his chest. (I know, I am low on actual details...)Bomb squad is called, anesthesiologist freaks out and leaves, leaving the 22 year old paramedic with her hand inside the man's chest AND squeezing his ambu-bag to keep him alive. She then freaks out, Meredith tries to console her, girl pulls her hand from his chest and runs...everyone ducks. No explosion. The all stand to see Meredith who now has HER hand in his chest keeping the thing from exploding. To be continued..ARGH!!!! Now I have to wait until next Sunday to see what happens. (yes, I know, all will work out fine, the thing won't explode blah blah blah...still...it's a good show!) The OTHER story going on was Dr Bailey going into labor and at the same time she is laboring in the hospital, her husband is injured and has to go into BRAIN SURGERY with Dr McDreamy doing it. Such HIGH drama!! :) Not real sure why I just gave you all a play by play but Grey's Anatomy ROCKS!
In other TV news..I think I will like the new Survivor, I am ready for the bad auditions to be over on American Idol, the new Amazing Race starts REALLY soon and where the heck did "Out of Practice" go? I like that show and it hasn't been on for a couple weeks.
In movie news, I can't believe they remade "The Poseidon Adventure," I have to see "Failure to Launch" because, yeah, Matthew Mcconaughey...and really...is Brokeback Mountain a good movie or is it "good" just because of the hype surrounding the storyline??
Have I told you about my guilty pleasure? The guilty pleasure who I will marry in my next life as long as HE comes back as the same person and I come back svelte and beautiful. You are probably thinking, 'What the HECK is she talking about now?' Well, the guilty pleasure of which I speak is one... Bob Gentry. The boy is FINE and he can sing! I have totally needed to buy his CD for months, but being poor is not conducive to owning new CDs at this time. Or ever. Because I am always poor. But that is beside the point. Anyway, back to Bobby. Did I mention that he is HOT? And that he can sing? Listen to him HERE. I strongly suggest the song "Upside Down." It's my favorite at the moment. So, anyway..if you haven't seen Bob's blog around, I encourage you to go for a visit. Nose around, watch his videos, listen to his music. But, don't tell Monty I told you all this, she may just fight me for Bobby's affection. It could get ugly.
Could this post get any more random? I think not.
Click my new renter! I'll write about her later.
One of my favorite quotes
Ok, I know I usually don't do the politics thing here..but see..after my non-political political post the other night..I had to post just a bit more.
Here is one of my favorite quotes from George W's speech a couple of nights ago..
"Yet there is a difference between responsible criticism that aims for success, and defeatism that refuses to acknowledge anything but failure. Hindsight alone is not wisdom. And second-guessing is not a strategy."
Remember when I said that I think he's pretty hot for an "old" guy?? Well, this is why..
and this one too...
Here is my favorite picture of the president. The one where he first learned of the planes and the towers on 9/11.
a non-political political post
I don't have much to say at the moment, but I will say this.
I loved George W's speech last night. I am not ashamed to admit that fact. I guess I am "one of those Bush-huggers" as GARY would say. So what of it?? Plus..I think Dubya is hot for an old guy.
Happy Hump Day!!!
Oh, oh...wait! I have a new renter! I decided to go with a blog that I haven't seen around much just to add a variety to things around here. The deciding factor for me was in her "about me" section. It says "pop-culture junkie." That was enough for me to choose her. ANYWAY, you MUST go click on her thumbnail. Her blog is called "The Pink Pen Papers" and I love her template. It's a very nice pink, not all bright and blinding and gaudy. I've been reading back through her blog a little and Pink is funny. She's a writer, too. I love writer's blogs. Probably because I wish I could write like they do. *sigh* Click please. Thank you.
