New Year's Eve Fun
How much do I lurve Maroon 5?? (How much do I HATE when people say lurve?? And I just said it!) Just watched them on Carson Daly's New Year's show. And, and, and...Duran Duran are going to perform tonight as well. I am in music heaven right now!!

I am well equipped with Sprite Zero and Sam's Choice granola trail mix (from wal-mart--one of my finds in 2004.Bubba-ump bought me some back in July, I've been hooked ever since! You should try it). Bring on 2005!!

Updates as I see good stuff on tv. (my life is officially pathetic)

10:25pm--So, is that a HUGE VEIN running down the middle of Conan O'Brian's forehead? Just wondering.
Does Kathy Griffin get on anyone else's nerves?
Why are all the performances on Dick Clark's show previously recorded?

11:00pm--Yeah, Duran Duran was awesome!(would someone please tell John Taylor that his hair is too long to spike? Thanks.) And Maroon 5 kicked boo-tay!

Just me and the big ball (and Reege)
This will be the first year (if memory serves) that hubby and I will not be together for New Year's Eve. He has to work. I am sad. Heck, I don't even get Dick. Clark, that is. I get Reege. Which is ok. But if I don't get my Bubba, I at least wanted my DC! The young'uns will be in bed. Guard Girl will be at her friend Kasi's to spend the night. So, I'll watch the ball drop and drink some sprite and enjoy the quiet until midnight when all hell will break loose here in redneck-ville, USA and all the shotguns come out and get fired into the night sky. I'd better lay low.

I must touch on the sadness going on around us just briefly. The tsunami is still difficult to even comprehend and I am so sad for all the people left to try to pick up the pieces and start over. Unbelievable.

I am also quite saddened by the passing of actor Jerry Orbach. Being a big Law & Order fan, I loved him as Lenny Briscoe. And as Baby's father on Dirty Dancing. And every other role I've seen him play.

On a closer-to-home note, today was Tater Tot and Little Big's last day at the sitter. I bawled. She cried. We will truly miss her. Even though the kids don't really understand, I know they will miss her as well.

On to other things. Does anyone still make New Year's resolutions? I do. I don't announce them to the world,(until now) but I make them. I am determined to carry out at least one of mine this year. Here are my main resolutions.
1.Lose weight--I'd be happy with 20 frickin' pounds, but, oh, say, 75 or 100 would be wonderful!
2.Rid my house of clutter.--It is amazing how much stuff one family can accumulate!!
That's all I'll list for now. We'll see how those two go.

What are your resolutions for the new year??
Also, tell me your plans for tonight or if you read this another day, tell me what you did.

Blah, blah, blah
Watching the beginning of the IU vs Ball State game at Conseco Fieldhouse on tv...

Bubba-ump:I had a chance to go to that game tonight.
Me:Oh?
B-ump:Yeah, if I had money and tickets, I could have gone.

Ba dum ba. He cracks himself up.

So, mentioning Matthew McCona-adnkghalgea(no, I still can't spell his name without looking it up on IMDB) a few posts back, got me to thinking about The List. I'm sure many of you saw the Friends episode about the list. You know, The List of 5 people (celebrities) who you could, ahem, "date" (my CHILD reads this!!) without repercussion from your significant other. Because, of course, there is no chance in H-E-double hockey sticks that it would ever happen! :) Bubba-ump and I talk about our lists sometimes just for kicks. He can never even come up with 5 people. Silly boy. I have no trouble whatsoever. Sometimes I need a longer list. So here's mine...

1. Gary Sinise He's been on my list since the beginning. No one else understands. :)
2. Dave Matthews He could play that guitar and sing for me ALL NIGHT LONG.
3. Matthew McConaughey Need I say more??
4. Gavin DeGraw He's cute as a button and that boy can sing!
5. Mark Ruffalo Great actor and subtly sexy. Yum! :)

I asked Bubba-ump who's on his list. This is what he said...

1. Gwen Stefani
2. Scarlett Johansson

and..."I don't really know. I haven't thought about it." Uh huh.

Who's on YOUR list??

Maybe a Tums would help that problem
So I was reading Tertia last night and I clicked on her photo of that babies-filled belly and Tater looked up to see and here is the conversation that followed...

Tater:She gots a big belly!
Me:She has a baby in there. (twins, I know, but singular was easier here.)
Tater:A baby?
Me:Yes, a baby.
Pause for Tater thought.
Tater:Did she eat it?
Me:Lots of wise mommy explanation...

When I thought about it, I realized she hasn't been around anyone pregnant, except for me when she was quite young so she doesn't remember that. Out of the mouths of babes, indeed.

Nog me some egg...it's almost here!
*SIGH* Well, another Christmas is almost here. Another hustle and bustle season almost a memory. All is quiet in the Chingers household. We had a pretty good Christmas Eve. Bubba-ump had to work last night so he had to sleep a large part of the day. The kids played all day and I struggled to keep up with their messes so we could have a nice, neat, and tidy Christmas morning. Guard Girl had her Christmas gift exchange with The Boyfriend AKA Drummer Boy. She gave him a t-shirt that said "Garage Rock" on the front with a silhouette of a drum kit. A necklace with drumstick charms on it. (Are you gettin' the picture here? DB is a drummer.) I think she also gave him a poster and a magnet. He gave her a cute little ring that says I love you (yes, I know, she is only 13). It is actually very pretty. She was quite happy with it. *WARNING! Nostalgic memory alert! I remember my first gift from a boyfriend. I was in the 8th grade and his name was Eric R. We were going together at Christmas time. Mind you, we had not gone anywhere with each other outside of school. We hadn't kissed or even held hands. But I was touched beyond belief at the gift he gave me. It was in a small box. A jewelry box. Wow. It was a pair of gold ball earrings and a butterfly pin. A god-awful ugly butterfly pin. But it was "JUST SO SWEET!" I still have them. They are still in the box. Never worn. I think we broke up shortly thereafter. *End nostalgic memory*
We had sloppy joes for dinner then GG and I ran over to mom and dad's to get a couple things. Stopped at Wal-Greens, home of last minute gifts for the uber procrastinator. Picked up film there. On sale, even. When we got home, Tater and Little Big were in the tub and they had already baked the cookies for Santa but not decorated them. After their bath all 3 kids got to open a pre-selected (by mommy) gift. *GASP! Surprise! Shock! Awe!* New jammies. Like every other year in the history of my kids lives. Sponge Bob for Guard Girl, Proud Family (from the Disney Channel)for Tater and Blue doggies that look suspiciously like Blue from Blue's Clues, but not, for Little Big. Bubba-ump had to work again tonight at 8. He'll get off work at 8 am so we will be waiting for him to get home before we open presents. Oh, won't that be joyous! Trying to keep a 3 year old and a 1 1/2 year old from opening all the things santa left. So, now the cookies have been set out, the kiddies put to bed and mommy is blogging when she should be wrapping! I suppose I should git 'r done.
Merry Christmas, everyone!! I hope you all have a happy weekend filled with gifts and family and love and laughter!

Angie

Yet another Tater-ism...
"Sissy, are you wearing your new ja-bamas?"

Oh, and, of course I had to do this...

You Are "Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer"

Rudolph, the red-nosed reindeer
Had a very shiny nose.
And if you ever saw him,
You would even say it glows.

For you, Christmas is a mix of tradition and fun.
You're not above strapping on a red blinking nose for a laugh.

A Christmas wish from Tater Tot
"Steeps Na Nee Na. Steeps Na Nee Na. Steeps Na Nee Na. In my heart."

That would be "Feliz Navidad" to you and me. Apparently she had never heard the song until today on Dora.

Threatening a Tater and a Little Big that you are going to call Santa and tell him how they are acting...doesn't work!

You Were Nice This Year!

You're an uber-perfect person who is on the top of Santa's list.
You probably didn't even *think* any naughty thoughts this year.
Unless you're a Mormon, you've probably been a little too good.
Is that extra candy cane worth being a sweetheart for 365 days straight?

Hmmm...not sure this is exactly on the mark. I'm really not all that nice. Just ask my husband.

By the way, I have spoken with her regarding her grammer and spelling. Did I mention she gets mostly A's? Go figure.

I I I can't wait--My love, tell me what it's all about. You've got something that I can't live without...

No, no! Not THAT Nu Shooz. I'm talking about NEW SHOES. Don't you just love to get a new pair of shoes. Really. Don't you? It's funny how a new pair of shoes can make you feel better. They can make a very blah outfit that you are tired of seem better somehow. Can you tell I got a new pair of shoes? Oh the little things that amuse me these days. Can you also tell that I rarely buy myself anything new because I have 3 young, money sucking humans who live with me? I wouldn't have it any other way. :)

stuff and nonsense
Scott Peterson--death penalty. Good job, jury! That is all I will say on that.

I like commercials. The good ones, anyway. My new favorite? Stetson cologne. The black and white one. The one with Matthew Mac...McC...Mick-on-a-hay..McConaughey in it. ( I can never spell his name!) That is one fine specimen of a man right there, y'all. Pardon me while I change my drool bib.

Chris won Survivor last night. I think he will go down in Survivor history as the least likely ever to win. I knew when he picked Twyla to go to the end with him it was a good choice. I didn't like any of the woman on this one, so I was happy he won. I do think this season's cast of characters were the least memorable of any of them. I didn't even learn all their names.

Got a Christmas layaway out last night. The only one I had in, actually. I am pretty much finished shopping for the little ones. Just need stocking stuffers. Gotta get shopping for Guard Girl. I would share her enormous list, but your eyes would glaze over after, oh, I don't know, the 3rd page of DVD titles! :)

We had to make a difficult decision last week. To stop taking Tater and the Big to their sitter. Not because of something bad, but for finacial reasons. Keeping them home with Bubba-ump during the day will save us $600 a month!! And we need that money to catch up on everything that is behind. (Can I just tell you that scraping by sucks big old donkey butts?? Well, it does.) I have been weepy just thinking about the change. "Grandma Marilyn" is so good with the kids and they love her so much. They will go through the end of the month. This is going to be hard.

We had our little revealing secret pals party at work today. I was totally surprised when I found out who had my name. She spoiled me all year long with gifts. Today, she gave me 2 GIANT gift bags full of gifts. One whole bag was for my kids. The other for me. I put the ones for the kids under the tree and it is KILLING them. Neither Tater nor the Big can stop touching, picking up, smelling, tasting each gift. Ok, I haven't actually seen them smell or taste, but the potential is there.

Drama on the GG front. A 7th grader likes her boyfriend! Said 7th grader told Drummer Boy (the boyfriend) to break up with GG. Now, GG's friends are in on it. GG was crying. Drummer Boy is primed to defend her honor. Junior high rocks!(not) You couldn't pay me to go back!!

Lots more to talk about, but I need to get to bed. I have to work early in the morning. Yuck.

Goodnight, all!

I've been so uninspired this weekend. Everything I have started to write, I have erased. So, I thought I'd pop in and say hello to those who actually read me regularly and to those surfing in via BE. Now, I am off to see who wins Survivor and to flip back and forth between that and Desperate Housewives. (I am so addicted to that show!) Hope everyone had a great weekend and I will write more tomorrow as well as answer the questions posed to me in the previous post.

Ok, so since Jenny over at Fickle Whimsy stalks Gypsy Girl and I stalk Jenny, well, I thought I would do this, too.

A.) First, recommend to me:

1. a movie
2. a book
3. a musical artist, song, or album

B.)Ask me 3 questions--no more, no less. Ask me anything you want.

C.)Go to your blog (if you have one), copy and paste this and allow everyone to ask you anything.

Be kind. :)

Edited to say that I absolutely cannot get the link to fickle whimsy to work. So, if ya wanna read her stuff, click on her on my blogroll.

Tater Tot-isms

Spacebitch=spaceship
whorehouse=Full House (ya know, the show with the Olson twins pre-eating disorder. TT's newly discovered favorite show on tv. Thank you ABC family channel.) Heeeeyyy, I think I just thought of the newest Mary Kate and Ashley movie!

Spacebitches in the Whorehouse! Huh?? Whaddya think?? :)

I am not getting a cold. I am not getting a cold. I am NOT getting a cold! Someone please get me the vitamin C!

So the old caddy died this week. That would be our cadillac. It's a 90 or 91. Yeah, I know. It has something close to 200,000 miles on it! It has been resuscitated. It now has a brand spanking shiny new battery. New brakes. I won't even tell you how close to grim death Bubba-ump came by driving that thing every day! Oh, and it also has new "hold-the-motor-in-thingies" as 4 of the 5, or however many there are, were broken and at any given moment, while I was having to drive it, the motor would have fallen through to the street and I would have been reduced to doing the Fred and Barney to get to work. My feet are already dry, scratchy and calloused enough, thank you. (yum, now isn't that a pretty picture for you all?!) Thank goodness the mini-van, cool vehicle that it is, complete with spongebob sun shade, is mine! :) (Wow, I am the queen of loooong sentences. I never claimed to be an english major. So sue me.)

That's all for now. Gotta go see who the biggest loser is. I would love to be on that show next time. Like I told somebody, I wouldn't be embarrassed for millions of strangers watching me. It's just that hand full of people I DO know. Weird. I think I will become a space bitch. On the moon I would weigh like, 10 pounds. Beam me up, Mary Kate!

The Tater Tot
Remember when I said TT had to kiss the Christmas tree before bed? Tonight, she kissed the tv screen...The Grinch was on. :)

You heard about Little Big...now you get the Tot.

TT is 3 1/2 years old. She is blonde haired and blue eyed. (where did THAT come from??) Her mouth NEVER STOPS. From the time she wakes up until the time she goes to bed. Talk, talk, talk, talk. She has excellent comedic timing. I'm serious. We are in for something when she starts school. I'm frightened. Tater walked late and talked early. She has a wonderful imagination. She bites her nails. She recently learned that she has blonde hair. So, she refers to it often. "Mommy! LB pulled my blonde hair!" When she started walking, she was bow-legged to the point of worrying everyone around us. Except for me. She grew out of it. She calls McDonald's "Old McDonalds" She still sucks a pacifier when she goes to bed. (shut up! I know she is too old) She doesn't like cartoons. She'd rather watch the Wiggles. She prefers The Cat in the Hat movie over Shrek. She has a newfound fondness for Garfield the movie and quotes it often...or tells us all about it as if we haven't seen it before. "And then, Garfield pushes odie and says 'down, da dog'" She doesn't realize he says Dumb dog. She has a blankie. She loves to have her picture taken. The first thing she does when we get home, after removing her coat...she takes off her shoes and socks. (like mother like daughter) Then her pants. I swear she is going to be a nudist. Then she grabs the remote. She is obsessed with finding the Disney channel by herself. She will hear anyone say "shut-up" from a mile away. "Don't say shut-up!" The same goes for saying "stupid." She likes books and baby dolls. She likes going to church. She gets excited to see her mamaw and papaw. She loves her big sis. It is impossible to capture her with words.

Tater Tot is awesome. I'm not biased. I swear.

Sunday stuff
So Little Big has started adding the "hold your face in his hands" when he kisses. How can I ever get mad at him after that?

The Christmas tree still ain't right. I haven't gotten around to re-dressing it. At least the star is back on top thanks to B-ump.

The big Community Christmas Sing is today. The 68th annual CCS. Guard Girl will be in it singing with her school choir. All the schools in the city participate as well as groups from Ball State and local churches. It really is a great show. It is held in a fieldhouse here in this fair city. Should be fun. TT and LB will not be going. Maybe next year when TT is a little older.

Oh yeah, Tater Tot has to kiss the Christmas tree good night every night, now. Who are these children? :)

Time to go bathe the grime off the little ones.

(Is it December 5th already??!?!?)

O Christmas Tree
So, I was surfing a little over at good old BLEX earlier and suddenly I hear a sound behind me. Not a crash, really. Not a pop. Not a splash. I turn to look. LB PULLED THE CHRISTMAS TREE OVER!! I jump up and struggle with the dumb thing (it's HUGE!) and finally get it to stand back up. There are ornaments everywhere! The stupid blankety blank thing kept tilting over. I was fighting with it. I unplugged it. I was so frustrated! The star is hanging about halfway down. There are broken ornament pieces over by the wall. I am way too tired and frustrated to do anything about it now. You know what? I'll get it in the morning.

Introducing...Little Big
I thought I might start giving you some info on the members of my family...I shall begin with the youngest and move to the oldest. (Ugh..that is ME!)

Little Big is 20 months old. I usually say he's a year and a half, because I cannot stand when people continue to use the "months" after 18 months. Just a weird pet peeve of mine. Anyway...

All babies are miracles. Little Big is a true miracle. That is a long, long story. One which I will share with you, dear readers (yes, it's true, I do have more than one reader, now!) at a later date.

Little Big was, well, unplanned. I already had an 11 year old and an almost 1 year old. What the heck was I thinking? Honestly, I was more than a little on the freaked out side when I realized I was pregnant again! (it was ALL Bubba-ump's fault, I swear!) The pregnancy went along without problems. I barely gained any weight. (I could support SEVERAL babies off the fat of the land...believe me!) I was due in late March, but was going to have a scheduled c-section since I'd had 2 previous. We hadn't found out the sex of the baby (just like the 2 previous pregnancies) so this being our last baby--I was having my tubes tied after the baby was delivered--we were excited. Bubba-ump just "knew" it was a girl. On March 18, 2003, when they held the baby up and asked Dad what it was, the look on his face was priceless! Ok, the look in his eyes. That is all I could see since he had to wear a surgical mask.

So after having 2 girls, we were blessed with a son.

Here is what I remember about his first year of life. HE DIDN'T SLEEP! The details are fuzzy.

At a year and a half, Little Big is a true character. He has an infectious smile. When he gives you a kiss he puckers his lips up really big. He has a girlfriend at the babysitter's house. L. She is a younger woman. They hug and kiss every morning when they see each other and every night before they leave. He is a mama's boy, but when he gets hurt and his daddy is around, that is who he runs to first. However, after he gets daddy sympathy, he has to finish off with mommy. He watches his big sister Tater Tot and does everything she does. He's a cross dresser. Huh? Yeah, that's what I said. He likes heels and pink clothing. Preferably his sister's clothes. Preferably on his head. It is nothing to find him with plastic high heels on his feet, pink pants on his head and a pink shirt around his waist as a skirt. He still likes a little milk out of a bottle at night. A nightcap if you will. I still give it to him. He's my baby. My last baby. He doesn't talk much, but in recent weeks he has realized that there are words in there dying to get out, so his vocabulary is growing. I'm sure I am the only one who can understand. I'm his mama, that is how it should be. (is it any wonder why B-ump thinks he will be too much of a mama's boy? Who cares? :o)) He likes to climb, jump and fall. In no particular order. He likes cars and trains and "men".(action figures) He likes to dance. He doesn't pay much attention to tv. Oh, and, he loves to cram stuff down in the heating vents. That's my boy.

I am sure as I write my blog, you will get to know him more and more...probably more than you hoped for. I can be the queen of TMI sometimes...more about me at a later time.

I've been a baaaad blogger
Just so you all know, if you stop in and comment and I fail to acknowledge your comment, forgive me! I have been just horrible at it. Just know that I read them all and APPRECIATE them all, as well!

In other news, we finally got our tree lighted and decorated last night. Oh the joys of little hands removing every ornament previously placed on the tree. :) B-ump had put the tree up on Monday, but we just got around to the trimmin'. Now I need to wrap a few things to put underneath. I dread it, though because of those same little hands. It will be a struggle to keep them from messing with them.

I'm running late for work, so I must go. More later.

Another MotY Award
That would be "Mother of the Year."

So, I am in the laundry room on Sunday, doing laundry. (duh) Little Big follows me. No big deal. However, after he sees that what mommy is doing is boring, he wanders off. Now, you must understand a couple of things. In our house, one must either latch the "heathen" gate to prevent TT and LB from wreaking havoc in the bathroom/kitchen/laundry room, or at the very least close the bathroom door. Otherwise, one would find either 1.) toilet paper unraveled into a soft fluffy heap in the middle of the floor (or, god forbid in the TOILET!) or 2.)various items tossed into the bathtub and/or toilet. So, I am innocently doing laundry and LB wanders off. I then see him coming back my way with a DISPOSABLE RAZOR IN HIS MOUTH!! Seems he needed to brush his teeth. Or slice his tongue to slivers, I'm not sure which. After I managed to move from the spot I was cemented to, I sprinted across the floor and most gingerly pulled the razor from his grip. (one other thing of note...sprinting, for me, can only be accomplished from an adreneline rush.) No blood came pouring from his mouth, so he's fine. A certain 13 year old, who shall remain nameless *cough guard girl cough* needs to remember to put the razors up on the shelf. I certainly didn't leave it down. I haven't shaved my legs lately. It IS winter after all.

No other nominations needed. I win. Hands down.
